And was described as the best of them all by the guy who had just published a book on the subject.

Listen from 23.50 on the podcast for anyone who's interested. Nice comments from Guy Garvey from Elbow who says it's the greatest football song ever.

So no mention of 'The Billy Boys' or 'Boys Of The Old Brigade'?

Some people are going to be disappointed.

Some people are going to be disappointed. The BBC will never ever acknowledge a connection between Sevco and the Billy boys hate song, but if celtc are miffed about their wee ditty they could always nominate one of their other cover versions, they've copied loads.

Celtc got a mention for copying some Liverpool/Carousel song or other. How is a Hun ever going to find out something that was broadcast on Radio 4?

SOL? YNWA? Pfft...

If there's a better anthem than 'Warburton's a fanny' then I've yet to hear it.

Lyrically, nothing can touch it.

Celtic really need to get a new one. After YNWA at Anfield last week, anything else will mean nothing.

How about 'A grand old team'?

Ah, wait, they nicked that one from Belfast Celtic.

they’ll never come up with something original. Everything about that club is borrowed from somewhere else
