Lost 8 years ago today and not a single mention from any of the clubs social media platforms. Disappointing.

Should it be an annual thing? Once every 8 years? Not sure what you're expecting tbh.

Prefer my anniversaries to be on 100, 50, 25, or 12.5 years. So 30 October 2023 for me please.

I think about Eddie Turnbull every home game when I see his quote on the wall of the concourse in west upper and when I see his image is on the Famous Five stand along with the other members of the great forward line now no longer with us.
No real requirement to hear any official statement from the club on the anniversary of his death after 8 years I don’t think.

What a crap way to have a go at the club, 8 years has no significance at all

Wacky post.
What other anniversaries should we be acknowledging? May 28th 1979. Arthur Duncan put it in the wrong net and we lost the cup final to the Huns. Almost 40 years ago. Tragic.

Something to be said about getting spellings’ right for usernames/avatarz :)

Indeed. A disappointing OP and wholly inappropriate imo.

Let's not turn a thread titled 'Eddie Turnbull' in to one of those kinda threads.

I really doubt the OP wanted an 8 year anniversary of the great mans death commemorated. Pretty sure that was irrelevant and a little misleading. Surely he just meant it was the anniversary of his death and he hadn't seen anything written anywhere which mentioned it.

Best Manager and Coach I have seen at the club by a country mile

I cannot believe it has been eight years already

There is class there is first class and then there is HIBS class!

RIP

In the world where the word Legend is used way to liberally, Eddie Turnbull is a bonafide Hibernian Legend....thanks for taking our club to heights we still dream of [emoji119]. Always remembered

Yes, near the entrance/exit of the west upper concourse - looks great

I was thinking about Eddie Turnbull the other day during a discussion about European football when I remembered he was the first British player to score a goal in Europe. I don't think Hibs need to be issuing statements or tributes annually … Eddie Turnbull will always be in the thoughts of the club and its fans.

Agree that is quality.
