Just noticed the collar on that training top is the same as on the Dundee home top and maybe the Motherwell one too if I’m not mistaken. Likely to be the same for our home kit?

I'll be sad to see Marathon go. I know betting companies weren't everyone's favourite but they did a lot for the supporters over the years. It died down this year but as far as sponsorship goes they were good.

After they changed from the box logo in the first year it was a very unobtrusive part of the kit as well, some of the stuff coming out down south with giant neon sponsors (Newcastle just released one) just wrecks kits. They'll always have a wee association with that day as well. I hope we don't have some horrible thing cluttering up our kits going forward. For my money I've always wanted Rockstar North, just the white outline of course...

I think it’s probably a case of the sponsor being signed late - year 1 it’s pasted on last minute, future years it’s known in advance, so can be better integrated into the kit.

The 08/09 'sunshine' one was arguably our worst kit ever.
The Puma one with the black trim was crap.
The Nike luminous one was just boring.
Last season 3rd kit was also utterly boring.

You have to be extremely careful with striped tops or they're just ****. I wouldn't mind a purple and silver stripe so long as its purple stripes on top of a silver background and not the other way around.

I agree our yellow kits havent been great. I think its because yellow and green together is not a very nice combo for a kit. The best out of the bad bunch you mention was the nike one a few years back which had black shorts and no green. If we were to go yellow again id rather see yellow and black rather than yellow and green.

Anyway, definitely going to be purple this year. Hope its better than the last purple effort.

I can't remember if there was any science behind it or just a logical conclusion but I read once that white was the best colour to stand out from the surroundings on a football field and advantageous. Green was the worst, naturally.

I'm not sure why white would beat florescent yellow in that regard though.

Its been a real farce this year, not privy to whats been going on behind the scenes but, the club may have been shafted by Marathon Bet possibly pulling out of an agreed deal which has left us scrambling about at the last minute to secure a sponsorship deal.

The kit was agreed on months ago and its a continuation of Macron and the technical and supply partnerships so thats my only conclusion.

Apart from ourselves, i think only Hamilton and Livingston are yet to reveal but those two clubs wouldn't be budgeting on large kit sales.

So not only are we missing out on early sales to boost our transfer budget but if it has been a last minute sponsorship deal then it will almost certainly be a lesser deal than we would have otherwise been able to negotiate.

I've got a feeling they're going stun us with a superb version of our old St Catherine's Primary school strip from circa 1975.

Bottle green and white quarter panels on the body front and back, with white sleeves and green cuffs, white shorts, green socks. Round neck, no collar. A thing of total beauty, I'd love to see one of those again.

That came to mind. Although if you've got someone willing to give the club money for nothing then you can get that and sponsorship income.

Overall, I think that the strip looks better with none/the foundation and it's good charitable thing to highlight/do. We could also be budgeting higher sales to compensate as someone suggested.

I'm sure it will have been considered by people better placed to know the facts than me anyway, so if LD says it'll be fine then I'm sure it will be.

I'm not at all convinced I'm afraid. I very much doubt someone is paying the club to put that branding on our jerseys. It looks to me like a hasty fig leaf at the last minute for failed sponsor negotiations, which may explain what seemed like an odd delay in the new strips being launched.

Underwhelmed by the kits and the iffy explanation around the non-sponsor. I hope our remaining signings to come are more convincing.

Mixed feelings on the home strip. Happy at the main design and collar but a bit disappointed because as i dont like the green band on the sleeve and white band at the bottom. A good kit but so close to being a great kit.

I can see the intention of the away kit (lots of people have been calling for another purple and green striped number) but it just doesnt quite work for me. Maybe better in real life.

Still, lots of fans seem happy with them so i think they will sell well.
