Lol you think Huddersfield haven't planned for the possibility of relegation and what that means financially?

Yes I do. But as another poster has already said, football clubs aren't exactly known for their grasp on reality and sometimes it takes harsh reality to make them accept that what they want isn't always what they can get.

We're waiting until the unveiling of the new owners before launching the kit.

Let's go sponsorless. I can't imagine the deals are worth that much anyway.

Personal opinions is the kits look terrible without a sponsor on the front. Hope we don’t end up doing that although by the sound of things it’s becoming more and more of a possibility.

I hear we are going for a different sponsor each week. Another football first.

The tops will be sold with a square of velcro in the middle.

I think people weren't impressed after he posted a cryptic tweet supposedly about Leigh Griffiths when there were rumours going round about Leigh Griffiths, then said it wasn't about Leigh Griffiths when Leigh Griffiths said the rumours were pish.

Ah okay. Griffiths plays for Celtic though, I still don’t understand the constant ripping based on one comment on Griff.

It's more just that the guys cycle of being an attempted ITK/Journo is waiting for something to become mainstream knowledge before suggesting he "heard similar" days before it became public knowledge.

Why can't Macron just design something with a normal collar? Stick a round neck on that and it's average. Have a stupid V cut out and a weird foldy over looking bit and it becomes utterly bogging.

Someone from hibs goes over to Italy to work on the design of the strip, so I’m guessing the answer is yes. If our strips aren’t to anyone’s liking it’s our own fault. That’s the main selling point of Macron, they allow us to pick what we want, rather than just a template.

Hmmm. Hasn't been much of a selling point so far unfortuneatly. The nike templates were far better than the bespoke Macron ones, at least for the home strip.

Those are older tops. There’s a difference in tops from the 90s onwards imo and most tops these days look daft without something.

Alternatively if this investment comes to fruition I would love if for a season we used the Hanlon and Stevenson foundation as sponsors

I thought last years home top was a bit of a howler. I dont mind something a bit different with the away top but i think the home top should be kept plain and traditional. Thought last years away kit would have been one of the best in my lifetime but the sponsors logo and colour ruined it for me.

The irony, not really the right word but it will do, with Macron is the best kit they have done for us, the black away kit, was a template other teams have used.

The 1st home top they done for us was OK but, as is typically Macron, was just too busy. Home and away this season were both woeful and the 3rd kit was just boring.

They have also done us 2 very good goalkeeper kits, the white one in their 1st season and the grey one last season. Neither of which were used more than once or twice in games.

They have also done us 2 very good goalkeeper kits, the white one in their 1st season and the grey one last season. Neither of which were used more than once or twice in games.

Know if there are pics of the 2 goalie tops you mentioned somewhere?

Don’t know how anyone can say this year’s away kit design by Macron was woeful? Thing of beauty that white with the perfect shade green sleeves. Brilliant kit. The Marathon Bet sponsor looked crap on it but that’s nothing to do with Macron

Have to agree the away strip was rather nice. Home was the worst Hibs strip I've ever seen, beating the 90's stripey sleeve number by Mitre and the slopey Puma thing. All about opinions though. The Hibs strip is a thing of beauty, it's hard to get wrong but when it's wrong it's very wrong

I don’t think the reverse kit is as pleasing on the eye with the modern day “athletic fit”. Shorter and slimmer fitting sleeves doesn’t work with the white body green sleeve. Looked better with longer, or in long sleeve in the older roomier fit.

I honestly think we view adidas kits through rose tinted specs due to the 1987-91 kits we had.
But that was 30 years ago and some of the kits they produce now are just template guff and dull as it gets. The odd belter like the new Arsenal kits aside which are very much bespoke, Adidas kits are pretty average. Umbro are making far better kits in comparison and I'd be happy if we sign with them next year.

I think some people are under the impression that if we were to have a kit made by Adidas it would be some sort of bespoke Adidas Originals number as opposed to the off the rack teamwear template we would actually get. Generally the same sort of Adidas fetishists who buy pretty much the exact same pair of Adidas trainers in multiple different colourways.

The off the rack template is more of an issue if you wear a bog standard colour way. Next to nobody wears our colour combination so we’d always be different, even if it was a template.

The main problem with our Macron kits isn't Macron, it's that our Chief Executive and Head of Sponsorship are responsible for determining the design of them.

There are enough examples available of teams with nice Macron kits to suggest we could get better kits if someone with a greater aptitude for it was responsible for their design.

It is not an issue whatever the reasons of that club, supportive or not. But a bandwagon might be defined as ‘something that is currently popular and attracting increasing support.’ I think whatever anyone’s views are, that that might be a reasonable and non homophobic description of the coverage of the personal issues loosely lumped together as lgbt under a rainbow banner.

Not pointing any fingers or supporting any perceptions when making the observation that leaping on others because of a perception that their underlying views might be different, actually risks an accusation of intolerance..... which is kind of ironic :greengrin

I mean in truth that away kit's trims are red, black and yellow, which are Patrick's colours, no? Still good on them for celebrating inclusivity - at the end of the day that's what the rainbow symbol stands for, beyond just representing any certain group. Only right that a football club, especially one with a bit of heart in a citywide football scene dominated by two particular club cultures with very selective notions of inclusivity, should count it as a core value and show their support. I don't see it as jumping on a bandwagon or cashing in at all, any more in a certain sense than Hearts having their Save the Children sponsorship (though circumstances are v obviously different there in more than one way). Given homophobia is, let's face it, rife in the wider Scottish football culture I'm all in favour of it and I'd be more than happy to see us as a similarly inclusive club do the same or similar sometime.

Going back to the original point though, is that trim red, yellow and black, or are my eyes deceiving me?

Edit: just had a closer look at the side stripes. I'm an idiot. Leaving this here for posterity...

I quite like the Aberdeen away kit, but I'm too concerned to decide what that says about me.

Reminds me of the AC Milan tops of a similar colour.

Wonder if the latter two are a hint as to the colours of the new away kit?

Sure the boy who does the wallpapers has no official connection to Hibs (obviously a huge hibs supporter), not sure if he'd have an insight to the colours of the strips

Owen’s my cousin. I wouldn’t be surprised if he kent’ mair than me.

No official update but we must be close to at least releasing the details.

The supporter disappointment at how late the release has been is part of my next update but the club are already aware at how much we’re eagerly anticipating.

Hopefully an announcement tomorrow night.

No pre-planned news items on site yet - Got news updates for 20th & 21st June hidden away, but nothing else I could dig out on the website or online store...

20th June @ 9:30am - Mascot Package for July matches
21st June @ 9am - Tunnel Zone Tiles release for October install

It's possible the news article will be uploaded right before going live to prevent sneaky beggars like me stumbling upon it.... (That happened with the recent open day gallery article)

I seen this on Sunday at the open day and thought the same, maybe it was our new sponsor. However im sure the words werent ' Carling, proud sponsors of Hibernian' I think it was more along the lines of Carling, proud to serve Hibernian FC which might just mean its Carling on tap in the bars as apposed to our new sponsor

There’s already a sign that says that on the advertising boards separating the West Upper and Lower, probably just a continuation of that.

Indeed, last time I touched it was in Glasgow before the League Cup final against Ross County. The after taste was considerably worse than the result.

NB I don't care who sponsors Hibs. The only thing that matters is that the money is good.

I'll be sad to see Marathon go. I know betting companies weren't everyone's favourite but they did a lot for the supporters over the years. It died down this year but as far as sponsorship goes they were good.
