Why are we constantly lagging behind others with the new shirt launch? Surely the earlier the better income wise?

Genuinely beautiful.

Could you mock up Away and a 3rd kit version?

Going to use these on my football manager kitpack

I didn’t do these particular ones, but you can download them for FM here. I’ve have no idea how to do them for FM myself.

Very well done.

No white collar? There you go - looks pretty good actually. Similar to the 13/14 kit, which is one of the best IMO, if not for the terrible memories it carries!

Chucked in the new Macron logo and rumoured sponsor.

Is the club still waiting to finalise a sponsor before releasing the kit?
I’d this a reason for the delay in the photo shoot?
Seems all very last minute.
I’d bet they are using Scott Allen to model it and his contract starts next Monday- the 10th?

I’d expect to hear something next Monday , even just a tease for now would do.
After all- the kit design and colours were decided months ago.
With this delay clearly annoying fans- a tease of both home and away will satisfy most for now.
Then get a sponsor sorted and printed onto those shirts! (and photographed and marketed ASAP!)

I love those concept kits. Why is it that more often than not the actual kits are slightly disappointing.

Because concept kits are typically designed by football kit enthusiasts who enjoy designing kits, love football kit culture and will likely have a good understanding of what elements from past strips the supporter base appreciate and would be keen to see replicated.

The designs for the real kits on the other hand are chosen by football administrators who with all due respect are not known for their sartorial elegance.

Do Hibs stipulate to the kit manufacturer that we must have embroidered badges on the shirts as opposed to patch badges? Just something I’ve beeb thinking about. The embroidered badge looks 100% better so no complaints here it’s just I notice that there are other clubs who have used Macron and Nike who have patch badges.

I remember a few clubs used to wear a new kit if they reached the SC final and I think Chelsea played their last couple of games this season in next seasons kit but I can't ever recall Hibs doing it either.

If we did it must have been when we only changed kits every couple of season which probably makes the whole process far easier logistically.

There's at least 7 or 8 there that would be worthy of discussion on a worst kit ever thread. 89-91, 91/92 and both from 94/95 are standouts on the awful scale. That latest one is just boring.

Possibly looking in to this too much, but in ththe backdrop for Joe Newell’s interview, the marathon bet logo is still present, albeit blurred and in the background.

In all likelihood, we’ve just not got round to changing it, but I did think for a moment that since it hadn’t been changed when we’re doing publicity, that we’re either sticking with Marathon Bet, or just don’t have a new sponsor yet...

Bayern have done it for the last game of the season for years. In saying that, it’s pretty much a title party/CL/DFB Cup final for them on each of the occasions, so you can see the marketing perks for the season ahead. Sadly, we don’t often get such marketing opportunities for a new kit on the final day of the season.

All reference to Marathon Bet has been removed from the website etc. Physical reference will take a bit more time to cover/replace.

Remember the days when a lot of clubs that had reached the Scottish/FA cup finals would turn out in the new kit?

I remember being well impressed by Airdries kits as they walked out at Hampden for their couple of finals in the early 90s, it all added to the occasion... i realise the error of my ways now.

I know how you feel. I sometimes think it would almost be worthwhile Hibs taking an initial financial hit and appointing adidas for one season every few years (I presume Macron give us a much better deal than they would), because you just know that we would sell twice as many strips if we came out with a 3 stripe shirt like John Collins wore every now and again. Could sell green 3 stripe trainers in the club shop too.

With sponsorship I also wonder if approaching 7up would be worthwhile. They probably wouldn't pay that much to be sponsors, but can you imagine how many shirts we'd sell with 7up on the front ! might be more financially beneficial in the long term.

Ok I think we now need a rocket up our backside....

For a while now my Celtic supporting neighbour has been sporting next seasons top, so much so it will be the grey and white hoops by the big kick off! Yesterday I saw a very attractive lady cutting about in The Rangers new effort, she WAS actually very attractive, I know, bad me!!

Now today we have the local side St.Mirren unveiling their home and away kits and the vans are at the club shop now, stocking it up for presumably selling it as of tomorrow.

Now I know we dont compete financially with the old firm but with Aberdeen, Hearts and most of the others getting their tills ringing before ours, could it possibly not only satisfy their fans as we get more frustrated but also maybe give our rivals a wee financial boost at this crutial time for recruitment?

If the design was agreed on months ago and our deal with Marathon Bet has now expired then whats the hold up?
Surely negotiations with new sponsors would also have taken place a while ago?

How much was marathon bet worth per year? Not asking you directly just wondering if we made it public anywhere. I would have thought the extra John Mcginn cash that's been spoken about would help our transfer budget

The McGinn money obviously will help subsidise the loss from the missing sponsorship but it just means it’s filling that hole rather than being put to use as the bonus income it was supposed to be.

Umbro are consistently the best kit makers, particularly for smaller clubs.

Maybe if this was 1979 and you were going every other week to Tynecastle to watch lower league fitba

I think adidas are more of a Hibs brand myself, especially the late 80s and of course the 1991 League Cup winning team's kit (home and away)

Now that was a great kit for a capital city club IMHO

Aren't sponsorships done by year? Assuming we do find one does it matter if we go a few weeks without a sponsor?

Ive seen them, piss poor efforts.
Its a rip off of an old Swansea Joma kit. Totally all white but with two black stripes down the front and a black bar to fit in the sponsor. Think Real Madrid but with a hugh black H on the front.

The away is a garish pinky purple number... honking.

H for honking!!

Sponsorships are done by season and reproduction on replicas is part of the deal. That's why we have had a delay on replica kit and why each passing day it devalues the cost of any potential sponsorship. It does matter as it impacts the club and how we're looked at, along with our transfer budget and for our accounts. Without one, or a cut price deal, we'll fall further behind Hearts and Aberdeen revenue wise.

Why wouldn’t there be a sponsor in place towards the end of last season if Marathon was finished? It’s looking extremely poor commercially with ore-season a couple of weeks away. There must be some kind of contingency plan if the preferred sponsor pulls out or whatever?

Doesn't sound like something that Hibs would allow to happen. I'm confident of a kit launch very soon

This slight delay won't have a negative impact commercially or on shirt sales this season. That's my positive speculation to counteract the negative stuff.

Why can't Macron just design something with a normal collar? Stick a round neck on that and it's average. Have a stupid V cut out and a weird foldy over looking bit and it becomes utterly bogging.

It is infuriating. A simple white v neck and last years would have been an absolute classic (it was actually mocked up on here). Even a button would have improved it a fair bit.

I really don't like Macron tops in general. In saying that i liked our first one with them. Thought last seasons was a monstrosity. Too much going on on one top. Hoping the new one is nice but not holding out much hope. Like others have said addidas would be brilliant.

I've not really been a fan of the home strips Macron have produced so far, I felt this seasons and last seasons were almost identical with a few sort of details attached on this year to distinguish it from the year befores. I liked the design of the away tops though.

It'll be enough to pay a high earners' salary every year at least, I would imagine.

BBC reported that our initial three year deal with Crabbie's 'could' be worth up to seven figures back in 2011:

Is it just me that isn’t overly worried about the kit/sponsor. Yeah it would be nice to have the kit released but re the sponsor it could be that we are negotiating with a few parties and want the best deal, or we have a value and expect nothing less. It doesn’t necessarily mean we haven’t got anyone interested or lined up.

I doubt its a lack of possible candidates and more to do with them having to face the reality that the sort of money even a non glamour club like them ( no offence ) can attract as an EPL club will reduce dramatically following relegation. That penny maybe hasn't dropped yet, but when it does eventually they will settle for a more realistic deal. That's my guess anyway.

Hibs are the same as any club …. Its not a shortage of sponsors, its possibly a shortage of sponsors willing to offer what the club sees as a realistic sum of money.
