First Hibs manager to ever go 9 unbeaten from the off.

Even more impressive when you consider how much we were struggling when he came in. Looks like it gave all the players a huge lift.

Worked hard and deserved a point, glad we have Rocky as our keeper, top top class, very disappointed in Kamberi, he looks totally disinterested and was a waste of a Jersey today. Good opportunity to stick 2 fingers up to Lennon and did absolutely nowt.

three times in the commentary it was mentioned that PH was continuing the good work that NL had started! did I miss something that we had won 2 in 14 before he left!! not once it was said that Lennon had inherited a team at the top of the league and he was continuing where Rodgers had left.PH is now a legend by going past the great Hugh Shaw by being unbeaten in first 9 games

Just Andy Walker being an arse as usual. Apparently all Heckingbottom has done is inherit an amazing squad and continued Lennon's brilliant work. You'd swear Lennon had Hibs in the European places with a top class squad rather than eighth in the league having fallen out with half the team and left them hopelessly unfit.

Good point against the champions. Just missing that final bit of quality in the final 3rd which could have turned the 1 point into 3. Also both Gray & Marciano were tremendous today.

I guess we should feel blessed that Lennon left us in such great shape that anyone walking in the door didn't have anything to do except carry on his great work and cement our champions league place.
To think that PH has matched Celtics tally over last 9 games and had no input in taking us to 5th, with a win at tynie, shows how great a shape we were in

Could there be a little bit of playing against a very good team who have a manager who knows every one of our players very well?
I don’t know because I didn’t see the game.
I’d like to think there will be quite a bit of coaching Pre season so my hopes are high for Kamberi.

If you didn't see the game you cannot comment, Kamberi was a waste of a jersey today, lazy and totally disinterested, needs dropped.

Some of his decisions were dreadful today. Mallan was booked for that tackle on Lustig purely because of the reaction it got. Great challenge.

Was loving the Broonie v Omeonga tussles and I think they were too. Then Kamberi jumps in, gets himself booked. If it wasn't for him diving in, I think the ref would have let things go more. Broonie was giving Steph the wink and got a big grin back. They didn't clash much after.

I thought he was fine, in fact i thought he put in a power of work albeit wide. They did have quite a bit of control of the ball in the 2nd half, and both wide men had a lot of work to do defending which in Kamberi's case is not that natural for him.

I'd have liked him on the end of the chances Shaw squandered.

Point to where I said Shaw?

Horgan is far more effective playing on the left, Kamberi is playing there to fit him in, Sparky is a better all round striker but Kamberi just strolled around all day looking pissed off. If Heckingbottom wants to play av4-3-3 then Kamberi will have to adapt or move on. The fact the manager has got Shaw re training to play a wider role shows what he's looking for, adaptable strikers who can play anywhere across the front line.

It was a great challenge, I was directly in line with it in the West Upper, if anything Lustig was late in getting there, Mallon got the ball and Lustig rolled about as if both legs were broken. The Ref reacted to the screaming Lustig.

Raf basically allowed Celtic to bully Hibs players all across the park. Lost count of the number of dives by Celtic players in / /around the box with zero punishment. Brown doing the splits in an effort to con the ref into giving Celtic an unwarranted penalty kick, and then feigning injury so as not to get booked was the worst. Mallan's booking was also a disgrace, reacting to Lutig's career ending ghost collision.

For a team that should be winning this league at a canter, they do an awful lot of cheating.

Yes the teams doing quite well but he was a wasted Jersey today and has been a few times this season. I don't know if its because Hecky is asking him to play a different role but he barely chased down a ball, hardly dropped back to help and gave up on a tackle a good few times.

You were watching a different game to me. Worked hard, held the ball up pretty well and is very much a part of the team that have just gone unbeaten in the league for 9 games. I don't think anyone played poorly today.

Excellent point which I'd certainly have taken before the game. Sound tactics and a strong mentality are a profitable combination. Fair to say a lot of these players are proving they are better than they were showing latterly under Lennon. It's easy to forget we're also missing several influential players too, so with a fully fit squad and a summer signing window behind us we should be confident for next season.

I still think it's asking a lot to snatch fourth spot but it won't be for want of trying. We've certainly got a good chance of stretching our lead over the yams to six points next week, and even if we don't win they still can't go above us whatever the score in the derby.

CMac1988
21-04-2019, 02:44 PM
Hayes should've been booked early on for diving. Brown should've been booked for throwing his arm at Omeonga, this would've meant Kamberi would'nt have got booked. It was a daft thing to do though. Mallan's tackle was hard but fair and wasn't even a free kick never mind a yellow. Omeonga was a foul and no more. Stevenson's was deserved but he has Agyepong to blame for being usless.

Ref was dire.

We’re not getting enough out of him attacking wise but you don’t keep a clean sheet against Celtic carrying passengers who don’t track back, chase the ball etc.

I know. You're right. I should have said I thought Flo was honking in an attacking sense.

He definitely did a lot of running and held the ball up pretty well. Not a waste of a jersey by any stretch of the imagination. Just an off game maybe highlighted by the amount of outstanding performances by his team mates.

Saw a vast improvement this afternoon with the performance compared to the Cup Tie at Easter Road when we never layed a glove on Celtic. Enjoyed the game and a lot of the individual battles, and we carved out a decent number of chances against the strongest side in Scotland. Good point and more than decent start to the top six fixtures - roll on next Sunday.

I was a thoroughly decent performance, looks like we are more comfortable playing football from the back, players making themselves available & wanting the ball. Well deserved point. Thought Celtic were making rather a meal of some of the tackles with the rolling around “ look ref, he’s broke both ma legs” antics. No way we should have got five booked, ref certainly conned at times.

Opinions eh, I thought Kamberi was a waste of a jersey and probably quite a few Hibs fans would agree. Not sure what you guys are seeing or we are missing? He just does not look interested and we should get rid end of season when he might have some value ( based on last seasons performances) or we could be lumped with him.

If you read back over the “boy band” comment when he took over it’s a shocker. It seems to be a myth that he was referring to a “boy band mentality”, it’s Clough telling Leeds United to “throw all their medals in a bin” sort of stuff. Big confidence and feel good factor from the cup win and his first act is to publically go through them and make himself look the big man.

I don’t think Kamberi isn’t working hard. I think he’s doing a job out of position. But we’re not getting enough from him going forward. There was a couple of balls in, in the first half, where he should have been bursting a guy to get in at the back post. He wasn’t.

My original comment may have been a bit charged but I always felt even given some good wins against them, Lennon put much more effort and importance onto games v Rangers than v Hearts. As evidenced by the fact he only lost once against Rangers compared to three losses against a far inferior Hearts team.
