At first I was thinking a draw would be ideal - but then (if we assume for the moment we win on Sunday) a win for either team might be better as would leave us 3 points off fourth, effectively putting 4th in our own hands (beat the team in 4th and leapfrog them on goaldiff).

Of course, for any of that to makes sense we would need to beat Celtic, and they are unbeaten in 2019, so it's all spraff & conjecture - but that's what fans sites are all about I guess :agree:

Great that, with 5 games to go, the Heck has put us in this position of it even being a remote possibility...

Really all depends on whether you think we have a tilt at 3rd (which I'd argue we might do if we win on Sunday).
Draw is certainly the best option in that case.

Realistically I don't think we have - I think we'd probably need to win all 5....outside shot with 4 wins and a draw but that needs most of the other results to go our way (the OF beating everyone else and a Killie / Aberdeen draw assuming Potter fields the juniors against every else as we expect).

If we beat Aberdeen AND Killie, then we're either 4th, 3 points behind the other, or 5th and one point behind both.
Realistically we have to beat them both, and probably take a point off Sellick although at least beating the loser of tomorrows match puts us in with a shout for 4th, and HOPEFULLY, Europe. Last matches against the two of them, would be nice to have a chance going into the those two

Need at least 12 points if we want a chance of 3rd or 4th.

4th might be more fun purely for the trolling of levein.
when he loses the cup final he puts hibs in europe.
schadenfreud is my favourite bundesliga team 😎

Bit of pressure on them in the Cup final, if we’ve secured 4th😄

When we won the cup in 2016 . I didn’t realise for a good 15 mins that we had also secured a place in Europe . 😆😁 Having your cake and eating it springs to mind .👌
If and it’s a big if . We win tomorrow, we could still catch Aberdeen for 3rd .
But I’d bite your hand off if offered 4th .

Sorry, yellow to Boyd not red, probably knocked someone down with his gut.

Huge game tomorrow now. Win would put us 3 points behind. Killie away at Celtic next Saturday. If all goes to plan we could be playing Hearts to get into that 4th position!

Listening to Sportsound it sounded like Cosgrove should have had 4 or 5 yellow cards which is why he was hooked at half-time and probably contributed to Killie losing their discipline. Sounds like the refs had a shocker.

3rd red card

Referees now need to be held accountable.

Aberdeen do seem to have a hold over the referees in certain games.

I’ve no idea how Shinnie doesn’t get booked more often than he does.

Will any of the Killie players be suspended against us because of those reds today? Can’t remember when we play them next.

This. Every time I've seen us against Aberdeen they have fouled us up and down the park with little or no nothing done about it.

Surprise, surprise they get players sent off against the OF though.

Referees now need to be held accountable.

Although 3rd is in the cards for Hibs, I preferred to see an implosion of one of these two team to at least make 4th doable. 3 reds may just qualify.

Broad foot and McKenzie miss their two away games v Celtic and Hearts. Finlay misses Celtic.

I think that was a favorable result, Hibs just need to beat Killie and Aberdeen while getting same result v the other 3 and claim 4th on goal differential. 3rd still possible too.

Listened to the commentary while painting. Even Willie Miller thought the ref was awful and Cosgrove should have been sent off. Sounded like a dreadful game.

Hopefully the compliance officer offers him a two game ban.

Steve Clarke has done an unbelievable job at Killie and probably deserves manager of the year but just listened to his post game interview and what an arse he’s starting to sound like.

This seems to be creeping into his interviews more and more, hope he doesn’t get the Scotland job.

I’ve always thought he sounded like an arse. A miserable arse at that.

And there goes Scotland’s best manager’s chances of being our national team manager. Sigh.

He’s not daft, I suspect he knows fine well what he’s doing there.

He never wanted the Scotland job IMO

Exactly what I was thinking. Just talked him self out of consideration on purpose while probably in his mind getting a grievance out the way.

Probably had had a a wee heads up from his agent that the Scotland job salary was 1/3 he could get in the championship soon south.

But now it’ll be the SFA who are the bad guys for not approaching him instead of him being the bad guy for turning them down.

Why should he... always find it odd when he is mentioned. Hes far too good for the scotland job.

Altercations with the SFA never stopped Potter getting the Scotland job, so he will still be considered!!!
