The season will begin with the group stage of the Betfred Cup in mid-July and the last 16 will again be played on a weekend to avoid clashing with UEFA competition dates.

Starting the season on mid-July is just stupid.

Would make life planning a lot easier if we had the actual fixtures before mid June.

Starting the season on mid-July is just stupid.

Better than playing friendlies. And with the nature of a lot of games the players don’t need to push themselves too much.

If we qualify for Europe it’s an early start as well.

Starting the season on mid-July is just stupid.

It's essential if the utterly pointless winter break is to continue.

Winter break with the usual 3-4 international breaks in as well and we can look forward to the ridiculous fixture cramming in December ...when money is tighter for those attending away games and those who dont have seasons ..! SPFL / SFA listen to no one and learn nothing ....fans what do they know or matter ????

I've not seen it written anywhere but heard next years Scottish cup final won't be the last game of the season, there'l be 2 more league games after.

The winter break is terrible.

Let's have a 2 and a half week break but cram a load of fixtures in either side of it. Great idea.

It's the international breaks that should be done away with. They should be the games that are squeezed in somewhere rather than club games. I know the national team is important to some but it shouldn't disrupt the club schedule to the extent it's allowed to do. A case of the tail wagging the dog IMHO
