I just read that Arbroath's GK coach John Ritchie has passed away.

Was he not at Hibs for a while?

He certainly coached us, don't think he played for us. Very sad regardless.....

He was goalkeeping coach at Hibs for a few years as well as organising a lot of the community coaching events during the school holidays. I'm sure a lot of people around about my age will remember attending the various courses he ran.

I think it was about this time last year that he passed away.

Yep, used to attend the Easter and Summer camps when they were held at Wardie then Jack Kane Centre.
John was a great guy!

I didn't realise that, I just saw Dick Campbell speaking about him regarding Arbroath's title win.

Coached around the time of Jim Leighton, Chris Reid and Jason Gardner. a big imposing looking guy with a big smile and calf's like thighs. A genuinely nice guy.

Yup, remember him running them out at Linlithgow academy for a few years.

Went to the Jack Kane one every Summer, was a class guy.

He got me into girls football back in the day. Great guy.
