Audience members told the BBC they thought his silence was "part of the act" and had continued to laugh, unaware he had fallen ill.

Whilst it's sad news, I bet Ian Cognito is having a good laugh about it.

That brought back memories of Tommy Cooper dying on stage whilst people were laughing at him. Obviously they didn't know what was happening but it's one of the saddest moments I can remember.
