Absolutely bizarre the amount of people keen to defend Doherty Every time someone mentions they don't like him. They defend him more than they would defend some of our current squad who have done more for the club than that wee turd ever did

No-one was defending him on this tread - merely pointing out that the subject is old and it's time to move on. Don't let that stop you making stuff up though....

He’s a disrespectful arse to not just the club but the manager who trusted him.

None of the Hibs players that day seemed to care based on their performances on the pitch. I’m sure O’Connor mentioned in an interview that there was a fallout the night before because they weren’t happy with their bonuses if they did win the cup. Says it all really about that squad

I don't like him, came across as he thought himself far too good for Hibs. His subsequent career shows he was probably right, but responding 'no chance', instead of the normal footballer chat about 'we'll see what happens', or similar, didnt really help endear himself to Hibs fans. And that's leaving aside the 5-1.

I do like Wolves as a side though. Play some great football and their manager is the spitting image of a mate of mine, which is good for occasional banter.

I’ll start with McPake and Sparky. Both sick to their stomach.

It’s actually the same for me.

Wanted Watford in the final though as like them for no explainable reason.

I’d want as far away as possible as well and hope nobody remembered Andy ****ing Driver taking the **** out of me for 90 minutes. Boys an absolute plum, even his demeanour on the pitch nowadays is full of arrogance.

On Wolves, they utterly shat the bed and went 10 at the back when 2-0 up. Watford well and truly deserved it.

He’ll not have time to worry - he’ll be that gutted at throwing away. 20 lead with 10 mins to go.

Cracking match.

Imagine being 2 nil up with ten minutes to go in the cup and being pegged back to draw the game.

Has that ever happened in Scotland?

Then the team that threw away the lead gets knocked out? That must be pretty uncommon.

Absolutely bizarre that the weekend we win at tynecastle, people want to start a thread about a player who played for us 7 years ago to stick the boot in about him being out a semi final in England.

He’s gone on to have a very decent career in football. I don’t think he’ll worry too much about a few bitter fans that are holding a childish grudge because he admitted to not wanting to stick around after a brutal hibs era.

Of course they should, but there's always the chance of an upset in a cup final. Watford will need to hope it's that one day in ten when everything goes right for them.

On paper, then yes they should win comfortably but anything can happen in a cup final.

I don't quite get how grown men/women hang on a young laddies words moments after a crushing result in what was the biggest game of his life at the time. I suppose some people just like to hate.

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so you're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive

This. I think Wolves might well have been a tougher prospect for City in the final, but the way they chucked away that two goal lead with only 10 minutes left, maybe not.
