A true Hibernian legend - Lewis every season proves what a diamond he is at Hibs. Technically one of the best players I've seen in a Hibs jersey and the most consistent. Be hard pushed to see a player in a top flight league be played so regularly under so many managers and under so many trying circumstances. He's seriously underrated and up there with the best of them in modern times.

How many Hibs fans - myself included - has he proven to be slavering eejits over that time? You've got to be looking at the thousands.

Mr Hibs, well done

Even when his overall form has been patchy, always seems to rise to the derby occasion. I can't remember when he didnt play well against them.

Very few players reach his level of consistency. A marvellous servant to our club.

The man should have a job for life at the club. Ambassador or into a back room coaching gig, whatever it takes. 1 club men are a rare breed nowadays, legendary (hibs context) players like Lewis deserved being looked after.

In modern times this club has had very few genuine legends, but Lewis Stevenson compares to any of the past ones. The only Hibs player ever to win the League and Scottish cups, holder of the derby appearance record and survivor of countless managers. :greengrin

He seems such a quiet unassuming guy its hard to see him in management, but it would be great to see him stay in football ( hopefully with Hibs ) as a coach or club ambassador.

Mr Hibs :not worth

PS …. If there was ever an example that you can still make a career in football with average ability if you give 100% in every game and have an endless supply of guts Lewis is it.

He's the most decorated Hibernian ever. I've been lucky enough to see him from boy to man, to legend.

Generations from now Hibs fans will ask about him. We are fortunate to have witnessed him.

I had a boy crush on Pat Stanton . I was 9 at the time. My hero. Never thought he could be equalled.
I’m 56 now and my I ache for the wee man. Love him. I really do not think we have had one like him.

Lewis Stevenson's a living legend of our club, for what he's achieved he's up there alongside Stanton, Reilly and players of that ilk.

What makes it even better is he is such a genuinely great guy, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer person than him. So down to earth, polite and humble.

Lewis is that rare thing. A living, playing hibs legend.

As far as I’m concerned he is at the highest table as a Hibs great.

I love him to bits, but he's not. Several Hibs players have three League championship medals.

Lewis has higher than average ability. But apart from that, good post.

Up there with the greatest servants our club has ever had. We've had more talented but few, if any, more committed.

We have two current full backs who are Hibernian Legends in every sense.

100 percent. I’m in my mid 20s so Lewis is the last real current player from my youth to still play. I’ve had the chance to meet him on a number of occasions over the years and I can honestly say the teenager in me is not disappointed to learn he’s as nice, down to earth and still all round lovely as he was that day when he was told he was MOTM in the League Cup Final 12 years ago.

A Hibernian legend for many reasons on the field and a brilliant role model for even more off it.

How many Scottish Cup winners medals do they have?

They have three league championships, Lewis has two cups, hardly a big stretch.

Surviving so many managers and not dropped by any proves a lot but he is a bit of a Gary Neville in making the most of his limited ability.

True. I was merely pointing out the factual error in saying "most decorated". He might well be by the time he finishes, mind.

Is there a chance that is the most derby wins for an individual Hibs player?

A good shout for it surely but I am guessing that Stanton and Duncan may have had more derby wins.

Total respect for the guy. He’s a classy man on and off the pitch.

Looks like he will finish up his career at hibs .. making him that rarest of thing in modern football - a 1 club man.. never even left on loan

Who was the last player we had to spend their entire career with us ?

I remember seeing Paddy on Morningside Road and being completely awestruck. Can't say I'm exactly like that now with Lewis (or any player to be fair), but he is a player and a person who I am proud to say is a Hibee! Saw him in Bar Roma once must be 10 years ago and the staff asked if he would pose with someone for their birthday. He was really happy to do it but I think he was also a bit embarrassed about the fuss over him.
Well done Lewis and many more games for the Hibees to come!
