Here we go lads. Tickets go on sale in 45 minutes.

I'm going on my main browser at 11:35, followed my by laptop, tablet and phone at seven minute intervals to try and circumvent being randomly kicked out.

Will the system hold up? Will it randomly start limiting us to single tickets again? Will section K lower be mysteriously pre-sold out again? Will any of these issues ever be addressed? Let's find out!

The ticketmaster website says multiple devices are fine, it's multiple browser windows on the same device that locks you out.

'I've been to...... this season, I deserve a ticket'
'Where were all youse in Eritrea for a pre season friendly in 1952? Nae ticket scramble then'
'I've got 5 already ha ha ha. I'm so witty.'
'Looking for 400 spares, they all have to be together and we'll only sit in odd numbered rows'

Spare ticket please - I couldn’t get one and haven’t missed a derby at PBS in years 😉😂
So as a result, haven’t seen Hibs win there in years either.

I suspect if you're in that situation (like me) it's wise to refresh at fairly low intervals - you don't want to contribute too much to overloading the site, but you don't want to get automatically timed out, either.

I was in the site but got logged out and put in the queue, only a wee bit on the grey circle so hopefully near the front, going to keep trying to phone the ticket office as well that’s how I got them for the last derby

One laptop on at 11.30am, i'll put the other on at 12 on the dot:cb

Be interesting to see how many are up for grabs. If its like Celtic's allocation at Tynie the seats at both corner flags will be blocked off and the two rows behind the goal likely to be blocked off aswell after the Zlamal incident. Time AST holders, hospitality season ticket holders and players/club get their cut about 2500 up for grabs today maybe?

Theres ~4000 tickets to be sold. If just 5% of Hibs fans attempts to buy by phone, that's 200 phone calls, which require, oh, 3 minutes per call to take details, and get the credit card numbers sorted. 600 minutes worth of phone call. If they had 10 people on the phones, it would still take an hour, and they'd have 60 people in the queue right now.

Now if that’s the “best available” they must be selling from the sides left to right, rather than from the middle out which IMO would be best available.
Picky I know but would much rather be nearer the middle.

Same for me too. I usually go in and get the ones I need and then back out and in for mate's ticket. Been successful every time getting my ones and every time barring one, where I was on holiday, for my mates. My mate can be in the same room and doesn't seem to have much luck. It is a dreadful system that would be solved by loyalty points.

There was still the option to pick the section from the drop-down menu instead of 'best available', though there's the concomitant risk of being knocked back for picking a section that's fully allocated and having someone else pick the better seats you would otherwise have had. It's up to you!

To whom? The middle section holds somewhere north of 720 seats. There's 150 AST holders getting first dibs, and even if you treble that number for tickets that went to Hibs employees and player's relatives and the like, you're still looking at something like 200-300 seats.

Row 2 is the front row of the Lower section. (Row 1 was removed a few years ago to make ground Uefa compliant I believe)

Row 8 is the back row of the Lower section.

Row 9 is the front row of the Upper section.

Row 28 is the back row of the Upper section.

There are 28 seats in most rows except those with aisles and stairways.

We barely sold out our allocation there during the **** years. The Riordan penalty game there was talk of Hearts opening up the Roseburn to their support, sales were so low.

It was only after the 2-2 that every man and his dog wanted to go, when we had little chance of winning plenty of people couldn't be bothered.

Our demand for tickets there has always gone up and down. There were many games long before 2-2 when tickets were like gold dust.

Then there have been other times when for whatever season we couldn't shift all our tickets - times which will inevitably return again at some point.

The Riordan penalty game was a great one because there was a different feel about our support as it wasn't all ST holders. Iirc there were more raucous youngsters than normal which added to the atmosphere.

There were a few sell outs, but after a few days of sales and often to general sale. Been to many that were far from sold out, and the ticket rush is a relatively recent phenomena.

Up until 2017 I never had any difficulty getting a ticket for a derby at Tynie in over 40 years of attending them on three different sides of the ground allocated to away fans. Not once was there a struggle getting one.
Wonder what happened?

The novelty will wear off when it goes up to about £50 a ticket next season with the clubs blaming Brexit or something. :greengrin

:greengrin That ship seems to have sailed. She seems quite content to make it a scramble with fans wasting their time on a shocking system. It was marginally better today but still deeply frustrating and very unfair.

We rarely seem to perform there, and, of course, that lot play as if their lives depended on it for our visit.

I hope Heckingbottom approaches games at Tynecastle with a fresh pair of eyes. For all that Lennon had Rangers’ number he didn’t know how to better Levein at Tynecastle.

Hope to see us align some actual football and ambition to win to being solid and up for the battle. Too often under Lennon at Tynecastle the game wouldn’t have missed removing the ball.

It’s a lottery right enough but probably fair as all Hibs fans have the chance to enter to try and get a Derby ticket.

How do Liverpool issue away tickets?

Curiously enough, that was around the same time a faceless group of fans threatened to withdraw their STs if we didn't do away with loyalty points.

Our demand for tickets there has always gone up and down. There were many games long before 2-2 when tickets were like gold dust.

:agree:

The infamous 4-4 game to name but one. Sold out very quickly, couldn't get a ticket for love nor money. Was even contemplating going in the gunts end as they still had tickets available, glad I never!

Rubbish, theres no such thing as a meaningless derby match. imo.

Should have rephrased that - I meant not to the likes of you and me but obviously meaningless to some!

I think things went slightly smoother this time? The system didn't seem to lock up for most people anyway.

How often have the 2 teams been in the bottom 6?

My mistake, as someone else said, the derby when we hardly sold any tickets was a top 6. We did sell out the bottom 6 derby when Caldwell scored the winner :aok:

We didnt. Unless the tickets closest to the Wheatfield weren't available at all. They were definately empty and there was a plastic sheet beside the Hibs fans I think

:agree:, we failed to sell block H for that game. We rarely used to sell out Hearts away.

Now these are the 2 games a season the part-timers want to go to hence the the mad rush yesterday and facebook posts asking for spare references so non ST holders could get tickets.

I haven’t got a clue, the only away games I have been to watch Liverpool in recent times have been Sunderland and Newcastle and on those occasions my tickets come from another source.

Not quite sure how Liverpool do it matters anyway?

Don't they have a rotation system for Season Ticket holders, with a different group getting first dibs each game?

The only times that we didn't sell out were meaningless bottom 6 end of season games.

We have repeatedly failed to sell out the Roseburn at times, and will do so again in the future I'm sure. Let's not pretend that we always sell it out, it's not the case at all.
