With an official Attendance of 50,701, once you take away corporate, sfa, debentures and west costs of Scotland fans, how many hibs fans were at the 2016 final?

Between 20 and 22,000 plus however many were in hospitality, so probably around 23,500

Seemingly about 60,000 the way that folk pretend they were. :greengrin

Glad I have a photo of me on the park and my match ticket framed as proof.

Around 23,000 give or take …. I don't have pics of me on the pitch to prove it coz I didn't go onto it, but I have my ticket and programme in a frame and a picture of me and my mates with David Wotherspoon out the back of the Hampden east stand taken after we bumped into him on the way out … great to see that he had been sitting with the riff raff supporting his old club that day :aok:

Memories of Wotherspoon a few minutes later in Asda obliging requests to 'drum' on the check out conveyor belt and starting a riotous sing song 🤣 Class!

Ahh, what a great day, our bus driver was charging Derek riordans phone on the bus for some reason, he wasnt even travelling on our bus! Then leigh Griffiths stopped in his car on the main road as we were coming out and got a few cheers.

There were at least 45k Hibs fans there that day, Stokes put in the greatest ever performance on a football pitch and over 1 million fans attended the parade the next day :flag:

Reminds me of the 1/4 away tie in Inverness. Everyone I speak to now tells me they were there, a few hundred hardy souls that night has turned into thousands in the 3 years since.

Yep! I get that but I was hoping like many other former players he might have seen the light and turned native a la Keatings and Fontaine. :greengrin

putting the debenture tickets to one side, we had slightly less than half as the oppositions fans got more of the posh seats, like those above the north stand section e.

Think there were overseas fans who had travelled for the cup final and decided to take in the replay too. Can remember a few exotic flags in Johnny Foxes afterwards!

I'm sure rangers had slightly more tickets than us. They had more than half of the top tier iirc.

😂😂 was amazing. Always remember thinking how radge would it be to see that if you’re out for your weekly shop. Big drum was in Asda too.

No, the club allocations were the same. I think debenture holders are asked what team they want to support and then allocated a seat at one side or the other - they're not tied to a particular seat, just an area.

I was in the North Stand, Rangers definitely had more of the South Upper than we did.

There were more Rangers fans but not because their new club was allocated more tickets. Read what I wrote again.

I was in the North Stand, Rangers definitely had more of the South Upper than we did.We were in the South Lower where there were plenty Hibbies.A few random Huns present and a few unsavoury incidents!

We were in hospitality as it was the only way our large group of Hibs fans could get in together.

What struck me as odd was how many corporate business groups were there. Sitting just above us was a large group from yorkshire who were guests of a bank.

One guy had a Leeds and Sevco badge but to be fair on him he was very complimentary about Hibs and shook all our hands at the end. Had a great conversation with his missus about the nature of Sevcos songbook. She was speechless.

Our hospitality area inside was nearly all Hibs. LD came in afterwards and she was a pleasure to see and absolutely delighted with the win.

Question is, how many turned out the next day for the parade.
Think I only remember a police quote of 100,000+
How are these things even estimated?

It was over 150,000

Only a big team could take 100,000

Big difference with a parade is many members of families turn up for the day as it's rather special.

We have around 1400 ST's and another 3-4k walk ups, not really that bad for an attendance of around 22-23k for a final.

Even 3 years on seeing a picture like that makes me swell with pride and emotion at the achievement of that day and yes I was there and the picture of my two kids on the pitch with me has pride of place on my desk at work in Glasgow as I know it still irks The Rangers fans there 😂
