Another one from Dublin City Ireland. For some reason I always think of Beautiful Day by U2 at a derby. We beat the Jambos at the New Year Derby about 20 years ago I think and the DJ guy put it on at the end. I had invited a bunch of people who had never even been to a football match before and as that was playing and the Hibees were going mental one of them turned to me and said “this is insane”!

Just like to point out.

On "The Mighty Quinn" by Manfred Mann

Pat Quinn also played for tomorrows opponents.

He played alongside Ian St John and Willie Hunter (another former Hibernian player)
Wonderful inside trio.
8, 9 and 10
Still revered in Motherwell.

Hope that sways your playlist !

If you do play it,many Hibernians (and 'Well fans) of a certain vintage will connect straight away with Pat Quinn.

The Fratellis are a good shout, that resonates of the end of the game in 2007 before they kicked into the three Proclaimer tracks back-to-back.

Another one that resonates is the Moody Blues and ‘Go Now’. We had miserable luck at home in the nineties against Kilmarnock but there was at least one game when we went into half-time in the lead and that tune came blasting over the tannoy

Wings of a Dove - Madness

Round about 83 or 84 standing on the terracing in the Gorgie Road end at Tynecastle before a derby. Wasn’t a remarkable game or occasion, but remember a guy a couple of years older than me dancing and singing along to it, and for that reason I am always transported back there whenever I hear it. Also, I always get that sensation of being able to smell early 80’s derby day Tynecastle whenever hearing the song - sure there will be a proper name for the phenomena.

Pompei by Bastille. I remember walking into Hampden for the 2013 final just a as that song was playing walking fown the steps to my seat and laughing listening to the lyrics “does it ever feel like you’ve been here before does it ever feel like nothings ever changed I’m going to be an optimist about it”

We changed that towards end of last season just to use Hibs heroes for a while but I’ll keep an eye out.

We have made some positive changes and will be featuring a completely different playlist. I have brought Micky in from Forth now so we have been working to completely change and share the fans views on music selection. There will be a lot of a “Hibs and local feel” .

Over the next few weeks you will see the introduction of “the Hibs playlist something we have been pushing to have in place for a while. I keep a close on suggestions and obviously will work to do as much tweaking as possible with Micky.

(Now lets see if my memory is any good)
Before an Edinburgh derby, I want to say in about 1999/2000 - it was revealed that hibs had a gay supporters club with a website and they voted Kenny Miller as the most attractive player (good looking boy back then!)
Of course the knuckle draggers at hearts loved this
We win 3-1 at ER (could this also be the Sauzee teeth loss game?!?) and the DJ in the stadium plays YMCA for the few remaining hearts fans to slink away too.
I really hope my addled brain isn’t making this up!!
