Hibs announced on the 17th of January 2016 a Public Social Partnership set up by the Club, the Hibernian Community Foundation and NHS Lothian (NHSL). GameChanger aimed to harness the power of football and utilise the Club’s physical, brand and emotional assets to embed the Club in its community in Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond. The scope and scale of the projects was to deliver community benefits is very significant, with medium-to-long-term projects including a health village, a learning and innovation zone, a family centre, and a healthy growing zone. A huge range of projects and programmes were being developed.

Last week, Brunton Place Surgery was submitted at February LCIG with the preferred location being Meadowbank not Easter Road. NHSL had the brass neck to make reference to the benefits of Practices co-locating together and adjacent practices working in unsatisfactory premises and referencing benefits of Gamechanger but for the purposes of the Initial Agreement they would only deal with Brunton Place Surgery on its own as it had been prioritised by NHSL and EHSCP Capital Planning process. The plan was to have multiple GP practices consolidated at Easter Road. The submission documentso makes reference to restriction of service delivery, when match days occur - when did GP's open on a Sunday or after 6pm weekdays? It also makes reference to Edinburgh Council being prepared to offer NHSL a pre-let space at ground floor level with good public access and the design team can have an input into the design. NHSL would have an input into the design at Hibs or any other area as there are specialist’s requirements to be met for health facilities.

It has a very poor reasoning for choosing Meadowbank over Hibs. The only real reason is Capital Planning / NHSL want nothing to do with Gamechanger. In short the pen pushers did not want to change, there a few people I personally blame for this, Iain Graham, Colin Briggs, Tim Davidson and our very own Brian Houston. The politician come out terribly, Cammy Day and Ricky Henderson were truly hopeless, if they are the best Labour have, no wonder they are struggling. I will never vote for them. If it was their beloved Hearts, I am sure they would have dug deep. There was notable exception among the politicians and that is Ben McPherson, I am no supporter of the SNP but he was very, very good indeed.

Henderson was conspicuous in his absence. Totally hopeless. He madeabsolutely no effort. Cammy Day was out of his depth. I repeat the only one who was capable was Ben McPherson the MSP. The bias against Hibs was shocking. They bend over backwards for Hearts. I would never vote for Henderson or Day ever at this. Brian Houston should be booted of the board at Easter Road after this, we should remove him of his conflict of interest.
