Some light relief from yesterday!!!

I've had my old bench seat from the cowshed for years and was wondering if anybody else had one, or indeed other items from previous versions of ER?!?

How did you manage to get that?

I remember the club selling off seats when they knocked down the East but I didn't know they did that with the old North Enclosure.

Got my old seat from the east in the cupboard, mrs almost launched it in the bin when we moved house, there would have been words if that happened!!

Sat in the Cowshed for years! It was never the most popular of areas.

Putting the bench seating in there was a terrible idea and I wonder if its just coincidence that after its introduction we were largely p1sh for the next decade or so.

Still trying to find a wooden stool that is of the correct dimensions to allow me to attach my old east stand seat to it. Anyone in the same position and found something that works?

They closed the shed down after the Rangers Drybrough Cup win. 3-0 and could have been more.
Rangers fans went mental. Worst I have ever seen. I’d estimate that hundreds if not thousands of glass bottles and urine filled cans were thrown that night.
Think the seats went in not long after that although I seem to remember standing there for the Sporting Lisbon game or is memory playing tricks???

Where did you get the stool from?

Local school were having a clear out. Painted it white and fixed the seat to it.

Yep, if they hadn't put in seating, we would have won the next ten league titles in a row and finished it off with a European Cup win.

Ive got a couple of seats from the East Stand, keep meaning to build some sort of garden bench for them but never got round to it

I never realised the shed seats were numbered. My dad used to take me in there if it was really cold or wet, and it was a real treat, but when we went the seats were always first come first served.

my mrs has tried that.

We just move house, so the upstairs landing/hall will be my hibs section, all my memorabilia will be going up, shelf being put up aswell, couple of signed balls (one the 07 league cup team) my old east seat etc will be on it.

She tried to "accidentally"lose the seat in the move.

The numbers seem to have been painted on through a stencil, and the black lines with maybe a marker and ruler.

I have also got a No. 19 Cowshed seat. You really did get plenty of "bumroom" for your dosh, back in the day.

Mine is autographed by that "current" team, (When it was pulled down).:flag:

I'd forgotten that the benches in the Cowshed got a coat of paint at one point. For most of their duration they were simply plain wood. But you can see here just prior to demolition that they were given a green and white striped effect. Could be that the OP simply picked up a section of bench from the rubble?

I'd also forgotten that we bolted plastic seats on to the away end terrace, which you can see in this footage (couple of cracking goals by Hibs by the way and seemingly much better atmosphere than we we often get these days!):
