Interesting small snippet in the DR from Paul saying hardly any mangaers gets 100% control over recruitment but will be involved with Mathie and a Craig and ‘guiding them’

Wonder what success rate those managers that do get 100% say against those who don’t would be ?

He seems happy enough with the set up which should leave him a lot of his time getting on with getting the best out of what we have and who will come in

The whole idea behind it is that when a manager leaves there is no need for wholesale changes to the squad and style of play deployed. The club have a philosophy and a style they expect to be met by the head coach, the structure in place at the club is there to help deliver that for the head coach. The idea is to limit upheavel if a head coach needs replaced which can lead to new boss signing a raft of players suited to his own philosophy. The club obviously identified that we were in a constant transition which ultimately led to our relegation , having been kack for years and having sacked quite a few managers.

Having been unsure myself , i actually quite like the set-up

He will still have the final say on which players are signed like Stubbs and Lennon before. Let's hope his eye for a player is similar to Stubbs. Would be expecting a lot of energetic and hard working players in the summer if he wants to have us pressing teams high up the park.

This was the set up designed by board member Brian Houston and fans in 2013-2014 under the Vision working group. It was known at that time as ‘The Hibernian Way’. Brian was brought to the board with a consultancy background and convinced Rod and the other board members to implement it at Easter Road.

I also forgot to add that it filters through the training centre and academies to have the club pulling in the same direction.

Which is good for developing the youth players as they don't have to change they way they're learning to play every time a new manager comes in with a different approach.

Thanks, yes, the structure was modelled on the top clubs in Europe who have a CEO, director of football and elite football department into which a head coach fits.

The first appointment was Leeann who we had been targeting for several months before she was eventually recruited. Then she brought in George Craig who then created the current setup.

Nothing wrong with the structure.

No one bigger than the club.
