"Scotland’s ‘Best Ref’ was Craig Thomson, who beat John Beaton and Steven McLean to the title." :bitchy:

That said, doesn't mean much.

Thomson was justifiably slated on here for years but in my mind there's no better ref out there at the moment. That's not saying much at all mind.

I expect the bigot contingent of the Jambo support either stay at home or are a lot quieter when they're not playing us or Celtic.

Not very difficult when they have the third biggest sectarian support in the UK.

Thought this was a worth while, well judged award until I read this:

Scotland’s ‘Best Ref’ was Craig Thomson

Watch the Hearts sectarianism lessen a fraction now Lennon is away. The cockroaches crawl back into their Gorgay slums.

I wonder if your casual homophobia will lessen a fraction too.

I always wonder why Tynecastle features so well in these types of poles

Hibs bias aside, it’s still a real **** hole!

The poll was conducted among random passers-by outside Haymarket Station.

Nah. Take out the Hibs bias, you do have a reasonably good stadium (the broken parts of the stadium are allocated to home fans!) with a good view of the pitch, in an excellent location (close to transport links and to a mixed-purpose neighbourhood, near pubs and cafes and whatnot) in an excellent city, so it makes for a good day out for away fans. ER scores quite high for the same reasons, of course.

Most other premiership grounds fail on some of those metrics - Celtic and Aberdeen have pretty poor away ends, St Johnstone or St Mirren are out on fringe industrial estates, Killie and Dundee's grounds are nestled in dull residential areas, Motherwell and Livingston are crap towns to visit, and so on.
