Good move for him and good to see a guy wanting to go and seek 1st team football.

Solid back up who was never really likely to challenge as a starter.

Why? We have much better keepers, only way he gets a start if both are injured

Good luck to the lad decent back up but ultimately we need better if we've to push on as a club.

With the number of injuries our two main keepers have had lately, that feels like it's a 'more often than not' situation!

Aye he did. Celtc in the league cup semi he dropped a clanger, maybe even two I can’t remember exactly. He was an average keeper IMO.

That's literally the only game where he made a high-profile error yet it seems to be the entire basis of the argument against him. He was a decent backup.

Darren McGregor dropped a clanger in the Aberdeen semi from kick off. Average defender IMO.

Yep absolutely! He's always done fairly well for us.

The argument that “he never let us down” is clearly not correct then.

Having seen him a few times I think he was average. Poor distribution and rarely came to collect a cross. Being average would be ok for us as a third choice goalie but he clearly wanted to play.

Good luck to him. There's been plenty times in my lifetime watching Hibs when he would have been first pick.

I feel that you will be disappointed then. Good back up when called upon but we have and need better at all times.

That's ok. I'll be happy if he returns, if not? All the best of luck to him.

Who’s United’s 1st choice just now?

They have been chopping and changing all season.
IMO all 3 keepers are not good enough.

Slovakian Matej Rakovan is the keeper they released today to get Laidlaw in. 28 but with a career total of 70 senior matches before going to Utd on a 2 year deal in the summer.
Swiss keeper Benjamin Siegrist signed for them on a 2 year deal the same day and is also 6'5". Played for Switzerland at all the age groups but at 26 had only played 43 senior club matches when signed. Has shared the jersey with Rakovan.
Their 3rd keeper is the Denis Mehmet, a 26 year old English guy of Turkish/Cypriot descent. Had played only 11 senior games before arriving at Utd over a year ago and has played only 6 matches since then. As is the norm he has played for Turkey at all the age groups and as a youth was on the books of the likes of Man Utd. Contract ends in the summer and it will not be renewed.

IMO it is a great move for Laidlaw and i think he will be the No1 choice at what should be the 6th biggest club in Scotland. Neilson is making positive changes and the club will be promoted in the next 18 months. Ross can be a big part of that.

He has been patient at Hibs and has over the piece done very well when called upon.
He has played 27 big games at Hibs so should be confident of nudging Siegrist into the back up keeper spot.
Go Ross!

Being average would be ok for us as a third choice goalie but he clearly wanted to play. Those are just generic statements, totally made up IMO. Cant think of a time his distribution was poor, looked very good with his feet in the County game this season.

Never had a problem coming out either.
