The couple of chances they did have came down his side. On the flip side he set one up and won the first penalty.

I agree with your last sentence though. Lennon said he was going full strength yesterday so I think he sees Whittaker as having the jersey just now. Would have been the perfect game to put Gray in to try and build up some match fitness.

Nonsense, Lennon has acquired an attacking intelligent playmaker which allows him to start playing players in their proper position, many many teams play with only one up top and are highly successful, Celtic being one example, Man C, Man U, Spurs,Chelsea, Arsenal etc it's the qulity of players around the striker that makes the difference. I think we may see Lennon play 4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1/4-3-3 more often, he brought in Hyndman, Agyepong, Horgan, Mallan all clever attack minded players, unfortunately Hyndman didn't reproduce his form from Rangers and Agyepong has been constantly injured, so he tried Horgan through the middle which didn't really work.

True, good spot! According to the Flashscores app he has had 6 bookings in the league though, with the last one being against hearts.

Maybe their stupid "it takes 14 days for a suspension to kick in rule" affects when they appear on lists like this. I'd actually trust a 3rd party app over the SFA, as daft as that sounds.

If Transfermarkt is to be believed, he's got 5 league yellow cards, and one League Cup yellow, at least this season, so wouldn't that mean he's not suspended?

Got my numbers mixed up. I think it'll be a rolling 18 game period so he'll be on, presumably, 5. Then either pick up a 6th or drop to a 4th depending on how long he goes without a yellow (I'm not sure when he got his previous bookings).

That would seem the most logical system to me.

Still a bit confused by this. It certainly reads as if the suspension only kicks in if you have accumulated 6 bookings over a 19-game period, as opposed to bookings being wiped after the first 19 games of the season.

Mallan, however, picked up his first booking against Aberdeen in the third league game of the season. That means his 6 bookings came between the 3rd and 21st games of the season, a spell of 19 games. Therefore, I would still have thought he should be suspended for the Motherwell game. Happy that he doesn’t appear to be though

Maybes not, maybes aye. Nearer the Alps granted, but I had presumed Genoa on the Med would stay pretty mild. However, just checked and current night-time temps in Genoa are not much above freezing. Daytime gets up to 10/11C. If he's been playing evening KOs then he might well know what to expect. But used to it? I suspect not given predominately daytime training and afternoon KOs.
Maybe it's the Dubai brigade who'll need to acclimatise. Hope not.

That's my best guess at what's going on.

I don't think Motherwell are blessed with a huge amount of pace but they do have a couple of battering rams up front so a relatively strong flat back 4 to combat it.

Tonight’s team still shows how much we haven’t taken shape yet and more bodies are needed. Lack of pace and width in there. And shows how short we are up top needing a second striker in with quality.

The team looks hard to beat but doesn’t scream out goals goals goals that he’s said he wants this second half season. Obviously rest of window to go to get those wide players. But after seeing team tonight Im going to say score draw. Hope I’m wrong!

I would say so, with Gauld starting on the right and Horgan left. Mallan behind Kamberi.

I like the line up. No problem with Hanlon at left back, he’s more than capable. Lennon tends to favour experience, nothing new there.

Gauld, Horgan and Mallan need to have plenty of movement, their starting position isn’t that important when we have the ball. Lennon mentioned that Gauld could play anywhere across midfield when he signed and he started off the right plenty for Dundee Utd
