People have said on here he’s had a back injury for months. He did however go 6 or so games on the bench without getting off it. I’d be more inclined like you to think Lennon just didn’t pick him rather than to think he was on the bench for 6 games while incapable of coming on. He may have had a very slight niggle but I doubt it was an injury.

He came on in the Rangers game on Boxing Day in the 70th minute.....the last game he was available before flying out.

I agree that Lennie just chose not to play him.

Defensive mid. Dictating play well. Although I have a feeling it was the man he was marking that scored the goal.

Think FIFA maybe need to look at ‘intentional’ hand ball ruling....not because of this game, but increasing incidence of hand balls......I’d award a penalty wherever it is touched by a hand but the referee deems it led to an advantage to the defending team......any way that debate for another day.

Yep, brought back memories!

Although, before the game I did say to anyone who would listen that I just didn’t see where Oz’s goals would come from, and ran out of time to get a bet on the draw.

This isn’t a vintage Australian side by any means, and it has been weakened by injuries almost on a par with Hibs.

Having said that injuries are part and parcel of the game, and especially at international level, can’t be used as an excuse.

The result was not a total surprise to me.......recently Jordan only went down 1-2 to Croatia.

Another ‘dark horse’ could be Qatar, who have had a couple of close encounters with a couple of European countries recently.

I still think the Winners will come from Japan or South Korea, but Saudi Arabia and Iran cannot be discounted.
