Jeezo, I know things have changed, but imagine us having a players now where we shelled out 250k for (Hamilton) and another we paid 300k for (Houchen)...within months of each other!

Most of those players would be automatic picks in our current team*, but the amazing thing is that we actually finished in 7th place that season.

* despite their age :-)

Brian Hamilton 1st pick ? Mind him saying he would rather lick stamps than re-sign on at Hibs. Hertz then paid £250 k for him.

That was his most obvious contribution for us (not that I recall a lot of others).

Probably a nice guy in real life but never rated him as a player.

I’m seeing Goram, Collins and possibly Weir...

I can also see exactly why they finished 7th! 😂

He was a bit of a water-carrier.

Hunter, Houchen and Kano?

I like Hunter... would he play over Hanlon, McGregor or Porteous? Not for me.
Kano was decent and might fit in somewhere, not sure where though he’s certainly not as good as David Gray.
Houchen wasn't a good player. I think that goal at tynecastle was a little deceiving. He was generally pretty poor though...

In the cowshed that day and on TV when Mickey’s shot trundles in.

There was some eruption in ER when that went in and we knew we were sending the Govan Galaticos packing.

Houchen was bloody awful man.

Signed him for massive money back then, after what I can only presume was someone at Hibs watching a return of the 87 fa cup final. Bonkers signing.

Don't get your Neil / Neale Coopers mixed up.

The one who played for us was Neil Cooper, who's currently Manager in the Highland League - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Cooper_(footballer)

Not to be confused with the Gothenburg hero Neale Cooper, who sadly died last year - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neale_Cooper

Easy to get nostalgic but not a great side.

Quality in Goram and JC but that apart nobody special.

Couple of minutes in and already a dodgy throw-in decision in favour of rangers RIP.

Nothing changes, eh??!!

Just trying to encourage debate.

Yeah, Houchen was good in his day but was disappointing at ER.

My favourite would be Hunter but I'm biased (same school). I do think he would fit into our current back line, as he was nowhere near as injury prone as some of our current picks.
