Funny!

Made me think of any other incidents when an external force impacted on things taking place on the field. The obvious one was the when the ball hit a beach ball, which made the football jump over the goalkeepers dive.

Was that Woofir Marciano or Adam Dogban who made the save?

Good effort. :aok:

Well done to the dog, though, because it was a foul against the keeper.

Listening to the radio yesterday, they had an ex-referee on to explain the ruling in this case.

"A drop ball inside the 6 yard box."

He was then asked if the ball had hit the dog, but still gone in:

"A drop ball inside the 6 yard box."

Then, what if a fan had come onto the pitch and stopped the ball going into the net?

"A drop ball inside the 6 yard box."

How about if an unused sub ran onto the pitch and stopped a goal?

"A drop ball inside the 6 yard box, and a red card for the unused sub."

You learn something new every day! Perhaps if your team is defending a 1 goal lead going into the last 5 minutes, your unused subs should be sent to 'warm up' right next to the goal? :greengrin

No, just a dog.

Did wonder if there's any other positions the dog might be good in. Got to be worth a visit to east mains for a run out at least?

Plenty green space to run about in so if it can tackle, pick a pass or has an eye for goal it's a win win so long as there's no rabbits to distract it.

He's wrong, though. It should have been a free kick to the defending team on the edge of the box.

Unless the attacking player was deemed not to have challenged the keeper.

Listen, I'm not going to argue with you. He was an ex-English top flight ref though.

I shall bow to your superior knowledge on this.
