The NFL, which has a much bigger problem with concussion, has a 4 step protocol that involves neurological tests, physical tests and things like that and all being well players are cleared usually within the week. It depends how they respond to the tests.

Not in football as far as I’m aware. Rugby is 2 weeks total rest before tests to make sure the can return to play.
