That is disgraceful:bitchy:How on earth did they think they would get away with it when the lad would be fit for the next game, somebody didn’t think this though properly:doh:

"It's serious on their part but I'm finding it a little bit funny because basically I'm not dead and no one has actually been harmed here"

There is nothing about this story that isn't outstanding.

It's like a plot from Father Ted.

They could just claim they didn't notice the difference. Like Gordon Strachan at Southampton when asked if one of his players, who was being stretched off, was unconscious just said 'I dinnae have a clue. That's whit he's always like'.

"This grave and unacceptable mistake was completely out of character"

That actually might be worse than deliberately flooding your own pitch to have a game postponed until you have injured players returning.

Not that I can think of any club that have ever done that...

Yep. The team I immediately thought of was Motherwell. They could add that to their regular “floodlight failure” party trick.

The story says they chose him to be ‘dead’ because he’d moved away and wasn’t playing for the club anymore, hence no Lazarusesque recovery needed.

Still stupid to think they’d get away with it mind.
