The book occasionally comes up for sale on eBay.
Also the second hand book site http://www.abebooks.co.uk. I got mine from there a few months back.

Meantime here’s a wee couple of minutes from the late, great David Francey to brighten up this dark and cold Monday evening. GGTAK :greengrin

Always remember there was a radio Forth Sunday phone and all the jambos were phoning in crying their eyes out then a hibs fan came on and said it was they were greatest day of his life 😂. Think the presenter was David.????

It wasn't Andy the Priest (or whatever his name was) with his late night agony uncle radio show? Could imagine a few of them were close to the edge that night....

It was Dial David Johnson, I was at work that morning and had radio on in the background, first couple of callers were suicidal jambos, then on came the Hibs fan and thanked Hearts for one of the greatest days of his life, talk about lighting the blue touch paper, the rest of the programme was mental and hilarious in equal measure as Jambo after Jambo piled in to I’m sure the great delight of all Hibby’s, with the guy who made the call knowing full well what would happen - would still like to shake the guys hand, best ever Sunday morning radio, pure joy !!

Interesting to here Derek Rae commentating on the Celtic game as well. He's been around a few years.

The cover must be photoshoped, surely Craig Levein would have been in the pic in the middle of the yams defence.

It was a bitterly sad day for Hearts probably their worst, still they had the comfort of a Scottish Cup final to end the season on a high. :flag:

£100 on a team back in 86, was that not like an average weeks wage back then?

Yes it was a decent bet to have back then, I think my season ticket for the old north was about £120 then, great summer though also backed shahrastani for the derby

I was still an apprentice - £100 was almost half my monthly take-home.

I too started work as an apprentice in 1978 and my take home was just over £100pm, but don't see the relevance of your post ??

Pretty sure they went to the Scottish Cup Final a week later though and made amends for the disappointment of Dens.

They did, didn't they? They did beat Aberdeen, didn't they? :dunno:

Afraid not Mack the dens debacle would haunt them that following Saturday and happily long after

If it’s about money, I started work on £25 a week before youth / slavery / thatcher / clearasil / tax. This was 1979. Does anyone know if things got any better in the following 7 years or so? Top off my heed came off that May you see.

Just trying to give an idea of what £100 was "worth" in 1986.

I was so high after the Dens disaster I decided to take a family friends wee laddie, who was a Jambo and had no dad and no one else to take him, to the Final. He was a great wee guy and desperate to go. They had been running out of pep for weeks and had no chance against Fergies Sheep by then.

Got 2 tickets on the Monday at Tyny and arranged 2 seats on the bus that Lauries Bar in Lauriston Place were running. A real Hertz pub, was told the manager had a tradition of putting a wedge from the till at the start of every season on them to win the league. According to some guys on the bus, he was due a good few thousand with 7 minutes to go.

Friends’ wee laddie still had a good day out, and so did I. Win win.

But NO CUP.

Well done.

I would like to think I would have done the same myself. Hope it did not have a lasting effect on the laddie, he must have been gutted.
