Seriously.
£130 for a kid to wave a flag at beginning of match.
2 adult tickets & a child ticket in the price. Tickets will work out at about £70. That works out at £60 to fly a flag.
Scandalous.
Why don't they pick them from Hibs Kids for nowt.

Actually the tickets for that section are £38 each so £114 in total (No reduction in price for kids) so I guess it's not that bad a price considering....

For all the money this must actually make the club I think it would be a nice gesture to do this for free.

There will be some families who just can't afford it and I can't but help feel it's just not in the correct spirit.

Not sure if the package is still the same but when my son did it earlier in the year we got a tour of the usual areas before the match, met a couple of players in the changing room who were happy to pose for photos (Whitty, Daz, Lewy and one of the goalies (Icanny mind who) ) were there.
We got some pizza and wedges in a room for food, waved the flag and at half time played on the pitch. It was not a cat A game and I think it cost around 100 quid which for all we got and my wee ones delight and getting onto the pitch I thought it was money well spend.

They also have 5 Hibs kids games a season where the Hibs kids are chosen at random to be flag bearers and/or mascots. So there is a chance for Hibs kids whos parents maybe cant afford these extra things to participate.

Used to be 2 of the mascots every every game picked from Hibs Kids at random.

Dont know if its changed since then, but I thought it was a great idea.

Maybe gone now, the same as the Xmas football tournament?

Said it before so apologies if I sound like a broken record but it’s a farce that folk have to pay for the privilege of this or having a kick about at half time

First ever Hibs game I went to was when they handed out tickets to a Hibs and Hamilton game to local schools. For free.

If it wasn’t for that gesture there’s a chance I would have supported another team like Celtic. Wait, what have they made me do?!?

Only joking but there should be more opportunities for youngsters to attend games and do things like this for free. Aren’t we supposed to be a club of the community?

Absolutely nailed it.

Back in the day every home game a Hibs kid name was pulled out a hat to be the mascot for following game f.o.c.

Also used to remember when the mascot got to shoot into the goalie b4 kick off.

To commercialised for my liking. It all seems to be about money these days.

I do agree with you.
When i last saw this call for flag bearers, i thought exactly the same.
One way could be by contacting head teachers at schools.
Or youth club leaders.
They did this, i think, when parading the cup round the Lothians and visiting schools.

Both games are in December .

One just after Christmas.

Expensive month for most, particularly those with youngsters.

The cynic in me might say the club see this as a Christmas present.
But Santa will be mum and dad shelling out.

Bah... humbug... i say :xlol
Cmon Ebenezer Petrie, Its Christmas !!

Agree with your sentiments Mick.

I don’t think I am the only supporter ‘uncomfortable’ with charging the kids’ parents a lot of dosh for their 15 minutes of fame, and would have thought getting kids involved should be seen more as a ‘loss leader’ ...hoping to secure them as regular paying fans for years to come.

Fully understand the need to identify alternative sources of revenue, but the financial returns would not be great, and as I say, the charges for the kids make me feel uncomfortable.

I think it would be good as Hibs are backing the Edinburgh Cheer campaign that they have atuff like this to families who can’t afford it

Now you mention it, it’s an absolute disgrace that we have to pay to attend games. All entry should be free with a complimentary pie and bovril on arrival.

I take it you’ve not tasted a pie at Easter Road recently?
