Sad to read that Stan Lee has passed away.

Not only did this man create many of the iconic characters of our modern culture, but he made it "OK" for geeks to be out in the open. It became cool to like comics again, and his narratives, resulting in an entire universe of characters, comics, graphic novels, films and tv series' made that acceptable.

I absolutely won't miss his increasingly-explicit cameos in every single Marvel film (they're almost cliched at this stage), but for decades of memorable and legendary stories, thank you Mr Lee.

Not a massive super hero fan, but my wife loves the endless Marvel films so I’ve seen most of them. Always enjoyed his cameos when they were well done. Like whatever Spider-Man reboot it was where he was the librarian, but agree they seemed to stop making the effort with his cameos.

Loved the Marvel comics, not as keen on the new films. Stan Lee was a genius and pioneer in his field. RIP Stan.

The comics were excellent. The ability of the films to capture the feel of the characters has been pretty surprising.

When you take the volume and range of comic characters and publications, and now the subsequent films, Stan Lee's range and impact has been pretty impressive for someone who drew comic pictures.

I love his cameos! Glad they’ve filmed them before his death.

There's a novel called The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay which is in part a homage to the golden era of comics. I seem to recall Stan Lee even gets a cameo in there even though it's a work of fiction! It's a long book but I remember enjoying it.
