Deserves a thread, his 1st start since August the 16th and I thought he was immense, never stopped from first till last.

Delighted for him. Rock solid and dare I say, a leader in a right battle. One daft tackle aside he kept his cool. Was my man of the match.

It can't be easy being chucked in occasionally, especially when they are big games. He never, ever lets us down.

Thought he was walking a tightrope being on a yellow card for such a long period but he was an absolute rock, exactly his kind of game really.

Big man did brilliantly to last the 90 minutes after the early booking. Superb performance, real captain's part.

He was fantastic tonight especially having been booked early doors. He also moved the ball on pretty quickly tonight which was good to see.

Daz and Marvin equally fantastic tonight. I love it we don't get bullied by those ****s anymore.

Fax isn’t a footballer but that’s an advantage against that lot. Reckon the ball spent more time in the air than on the deck tonight

Agreed, you rarely if ever see him make a bad pass or give away possession

His shielding of the ball is outstanding and his passing first class.

:agree:He might not play world cup willie balls, but his use of the ball is generally brilliant.

Well yes thought Marv was invaluable tonight. To be fair he even calmed the pace of the game at times with a nice wee pass
now and again.Just as well as the rest of the midfield were poor at best.
To be honest I was of the opinion he is only good for Tynecastle and no where else if we are to looking to be positive in our games.

Kamberi lost us any chance of a win with his spoilt child routine. Yes it was never a booking but if gets up and gets on with it there is no problem.

Disappointing performance once again at the pig pen ,one day we will show up.:boo hoo:

Probably should have subbed him at the start of the second half the way the game was going so that we could get at them with pace.

Having said that, to come into a derby having not played for ages and put in that kind of gutsy performance was proper Captain Fantastic stuff. Takes no **** from them whatsoever and I love him for it.

Should start every game at Tiny castle against them. We'll never be bullied there with him in the team.

He was excellent. The issue was he didn’t have the players alongside him in midfield to give the ball to to create enough.

Not everyone’s cup of tea big Marv but when called upon he’s an absolute rock for us. Strong as an Ox.

The best Hibs player I've ever seen in a derby in terms of concistency. Fantastic again tonight.

Sensational from the big man tonight and what impressed me the most was he can actually play a decent game as well as do his dirty work. That tackle on the weirdo was an absolute delight to watch as well though perhaps a bit lucky on Marv’s behalf.

Lewis Stevenson is the only other one who comes close. Just never has a bad derby game.

But when I saw he was starting tonight I wasn't impressed. But my god he was phenomenal! What a performance Marv. Hope he enjoyed the captains role.

Picking a team means horses for courses, and Bartley is a thoroughbred when it comes to coping with Hearts overly physical approach.

Surprised to see us start with Milligan and Bartley in the same team but knowing it was going to descend into a battle was a wise choice in the end. Both had great games.

Just turns up every time in derby matches, especially at the Rust Arena …. A wee bit lucky to avoid a red for what was without doubt a late challenge, seen em given as they say. But apart from his usual immense physical display in these types of games I actually thought he used the ball really well when he was in possession as well. In fact he had more composure than any of the guys in our midfield who you would want to see it from like Mallan and Slivka.

Shout out for Daz as well who was immense throughout.

Heart in mouth time when he committed that foul in the first half.
Other than that he was great tonight especially for a guy who hasn't played much football this season.
Unlike Kamberi he managed his match after the yellow card and would never have fallen for a similar wind up.
Had Kamberi not messed up he would probably been substituted after 70 minutes by say MacLaren or Horgan and we would have gone for the winner.
As it was he stayed on and helped us avoid defeat. Well done Marv.
