Can't see it happening, Qatar are isolated both politically and socially at the moment.

Regionally nobody will go into a joint venture with the Qataris if the Saudi's have a say in it.

Breaking news, January 2022.

Scotland failed in a gallant bid to reach the 2022 World Cup, valiantly losing on penalties to Lapland.

You just beat me to it, Qatar isn't exactly flavour of the month i the Gulf region, I had to flu to Doha from Abu Dhabi via Muscat as there are no direct flights from UAE. And even if that is all sorted out, it could be a nightmare for fans travelling about the region, some areas are more culturally conservative than others (ie you can get away with more in Dubai than you would in Riyadh).

I've spent enough time over there with work anyway, don't really fancy it as a holiday.

They could change it to 128 teams and Scotland would still fail to qualify due to a last minute goal or some other hard luck story.
