That's quite a good one.

I thought of a few clubs and the first player who popped into my head was ......

Arsenal - Charlie Nicholas
Leeds - John Lukic
West Ham - Frank McAvennie
Dundee United - Davie Dodds
Forest - Garry Birtles
Spurs - Glenn Hoddle

I think I'm in a panini 86 time warp.

Hibs---Eric Stevenson, my favourite Hibs player
Celtic--Ronnie Simpson

Portugal---Eusebio

obviously, but was thinking other teams.
I could say about half a dozen hibs players but it was more one single player you thought of you saw another team

Hibs - Stanton is the obvious choice, but Latapy for his ability.

Hearts - Robertson if I'm being kind, Ian Black if I'm summing them up.

Gorgeous Gus ( The Earl of Boote) Redburn Rovers
Ably assisted by his Butler Jenkins
Jenkins would ensure that Lord Bootes copy of the Times was suitably ironed and ready for reading
He would turn up for a match with 15 minutes to go in his Rolls Royce -Redburn would be 0-2 down- come on score a hatrick and still be 5 minutes left for a cup of char.”Tea... mLud!”
Looking back on these enthralling tales in the Victor for Boys it reminds me of that latter day hero Stevie Archibald 😁

Without doubt if we had been able to afford to hang on to all our star players we would have won the league the big cup and the wee cup countless times over but would we be debt free without the revenue generated by the sale of players and the constant drain of higher and higher salaries? Nowadays with the income generated by the TV companies and EUFA probably aye!
