1) Sauzee

3) Milligan (multiple caps for his country and captaining them at most recent World Cup)

Reckon Zitelli, Mixu and Archibald would have had higher profiles than Milligan but a nice debate to have.

Presuming the Famous Five and Baker must have been very high profile back in the day too but a different game then I guess.

Edit: does Ray Wilkins count?

I was forgetting my Hibstory. Gordon Smith should probably be up there at 1/2 with his connections and admirers Finnie, Matthews and Ferguson to name but 3..

Latapy has the same number of votes that year as the Norwegian goalie and apparently she was delighted with the accolade too!

I think Peter Cormack would be one that would be up there.

2 - Sauzee
3 - Archibold

Best
Archibald
Baker

Wilkins was a decent shout too though. We won't have had many players who had AC Milan and Man Utd on their cv.

1, George Best - Post prime but it was at the time a phenomenal coup from Tom Hart and the board to have this footballing legend at ER.

2, Peter Marinello - Signed by Arsenal for a then record club fee of £100 000 in 1970 and was rated so highly he was forecast to be the next George Best.

3, Tie between Archie and Franck. Both were genuine world class players that we were extremely fortunate to see grace ER. Amazing footballers.

Special mention to Invinsibles, and World Cup winners Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires, who both played for Hibs in Ian Murray’s testimonial...

High profile? I think you have decide would someone who for example supports a non league team in England have heard of our nominees? That rules out about 99.9% of Hibs players.

Depending on age most people would have at least have heard of most of them as nationally famous on saying that I am 60 and I hadn’t heard of some of the last England World Cup squad or even what teams they played for? :greengrin

I would have thought Joe Baker worth a mention.

First ever player to be capped by England whilst not playing in the English Leagues.

150 games and 100 goals for Arsenal .

9 goals in one game for Hibs.

Lawrie Reilly--prolific goalscorer. Part of two league winning sides. Most capped Hibs player.
Pat Stanton--A great leader on the park. Loved by all Hibs fans
George Best--One of the greatest players the game has ever seen. Yes, past his best at Hibs but a legend none the less.
