How about drawing a perpendicular line through Scotland - North and South of, say, the Western edge of Livingston? All the Nats get an Indy Scotland in the West and all the Unionists get to stay in the UK in the East. Then the handwringers can do their thing in Glasgow, Dumfries, Stirling and Inverness and the rest of us can get on with ironing our Union Jack underpants unmolested in our Eastern nirvana?

We get the Western Isles though. That's only fair if we're taking Livingston.

You're not really getting the true Israel-Palestine effect there.

Clearly East Edinburgh will be iScotland's restored capital. You can have Gorgie/Dalry/Saughton/Stenhouse as your West Edinburgh colonial outpost. Apart from that you get the North Bank of the Dee (plus Balmoral) and the Gazza strip (Larkhall-Wishaw-Shotts-Harthill-Armadale-Bathgate).

As for the Western Isles? Don't make me laugh - Rockall or ****all. :greengrin

Its a good idea to be honest

the Borders and Edinburgh remain in the uk , the rest can be independent Scotland with Glasgow as its capital

Will there be a DMZ, or similar corridor, to allow safe passage of all from their own enclave to their place of work, worship and fitba?

I've read Mila 18, and it was a bugger for those guys to get to a game.

Kind of what happened in Ireland. The wealth stayed in the UK, and the bits it didn't want got independence. Trebles all round!

True. NI began post-1921 life with practically the entire island's industrial output.

Now, as Ireland flourishes in Europe, NI is a backward outpost entirely reliant on UK handouts.

Not that I'm drawing any conclusions from that. :wink:
