View Full Version : Ticket sales - Hamilton game

Tickets available:

West 298
Famous Five 120
East 304

Total 722

Probably these areas will be sold out by Saturday with a couple of lower tiers likely to be open in the South Stand to enable all Hibbies who want to be at the game to be able to get a ticket.

Hamilton have the smallest away support in the top tier so a good crowd (tickets sold not attendance!) will be over 17,000.

We should be looking to give them a real going over in front of a big crowd. Time for the team and support to step up now. Yes, Celtic, though stuttering, will come good, but there's nobody else that massively impressive. Let's get into it.

Big, big game. A win takes us just two points away from top spot. No easy task though as Hamilton made things very tricky for us last season.

You are not wrong, but - if we win - would much rather have the points on the board then sit back and (hopefully) watch those two kick the ***** out of each other - with added tsunamis / neutron bombs as well - the following day.

It's a point worth making because the narrative can change remarkably quickly in football. We beat Hamilton and the yams lose at Ibrox (though, granted they'll fancy their chances, especially if Potter ditches his usual 11 men behind the ball tactics there), we then have a two-week international break with us sitting just two points behind them and much of the talk during that time will be about whether Hibs can take over at the top.

Of course, we could end up losing to Hamilton and the yams win at Ibrox to go eight clear but I prefer to take the optimistic outlook...

I was literally thinking your last sentence as I read your first! A lot of folk as usual are taking the likes of Hamilton as a gimme, which given they turned us over last year displays a pretty short memory.

It starts at 1:00 and finishes at Holyrood (I'm going to both) so shouldn't affect it too much.

Can’t describe this as a big, big game.

It’s a run of the mill league game against a team that will be fighting relegation.

Unlike last season this will be an easy 3 points.

I think we're all slightly concerned by that but the players and manager will be all too aware of what happened last season. Our home form is incredible so we should be confident without being disrespectful to Hamilton.

We've got a thread whipping up a bit of optimism and excitement about the fact that we're a ball hair off the top of the league and we've got someone who appears to have come over to suck the fun right out of it. There are four or five folk on this forum who seem determined to do this as often as they can.

Being closer to Hearts will affect them mentally, whether or not they think it will. Remember when we went top a few years ago and the BBC assumed it was "temporary" because Celtic would win at Parkhead?

Hardly any. Lucky if they even sell out half a section

Let's be honest, we'll have to start converting more of the (many) chances we make to actually give some team a 'good going over'. With Maclaren out for a while, I think I'll be happy if we can just scrape wins in the meantime.

Unless, of course, we're about to be surprised with the signing of a new striker in the next few days...

Agreed. Judging by the highlights I saw of Hamilton losing at home to Dundee the scoreline was very flattering to Dundee, but we beat Dundee comfortably at Dens the previous week so we SHOULD see off Accies. As you say, Lennon will ensure there's no complacency and if we can put away even a couple of the chances we normally create we are more than good enough to win comfortably. An early goal or two would be very welcome.

I was hugely suprised with the Molde support that night. Thought they would have brought a similar number to what Brondby brought with them.

Agree, Runavik did bring the most out of the 3 clubs

Molde visited during the Edinburgh Festival so that would have made accommodation difficult and expensive at short notice.

Strangely, there aren't any walk-up tickets for the away end, if the Hamilton Accies site is to be believed: "Our understanding is that tickets will not be available on the day"

Which means if their travelling support turns up without reading that, he or she might just buy a ticket anyways, and end up mingling with the home crowd in the South Stand, Where's Wally-style.

Didn’t think of that. Explains it now.

Plus majority of them would have expected Asteras to win the tie with them being the seeded team.

HC, you know that a win does put us 2 points within hearts but it also puts pressure on them knowing we’re catching them up.

We'll still have the usual gaps in the FF lower but it'll still be a great crowd. A far cry from a few years ago where a game against Hamilton would be lucky to sell 11,000 tickets.

For all those who moan at our board, owners and chairman etc...how can you argue with what they've achieved? It looks like we're finally punching our weight after all these years.

Our first season in the Championship under Stubbsy we were getting four figure crowds against quite a few of the smaller clubs. Massively changed days.

Have they maybe removed a section of tickets for sale at the Pods? It's just that the seats shown as no longer available are very evenly from the top half of that section.
