The shootout took place in front of the Aberdeen fans and they took the first penalty

So did they win the coin toss, pick whici goal mouth and we opted to go second

Or does the ref pick which end of the ground?

Who decided what?

Proper stupid question but I’m tried and emotional

I asked a similar question at the time. I would have thought with Aberdeen winning their end in the toss, then surely Hibs would have decided to go first in the shoot-out?

The announcer said Aberdeen won the toss and chose ends, he could well have just made it up though. If true I'm sure we would have chose to go first.

Two coin tosses shown on TV both won by them.

It’s a flip of the coin for ends and then a flip for who gets to choose if they go first.

We lost both effectively tonight

Should have been in front of the neutral FF lower.

Puzzled me as well - I would think that whoever wins the toss would get to choose either which end or to go first.

Now I know that there are two tosses.

****ing disgrace we didn't sign a better coin-toss caller in the transfer window. :grr:

For all my life I thought there was only one coin toss for deciding ends, and the losing side in the coin toss chose whether to go first or second.

TBH we haven't had a real proper tosser since Andy Walker.

The ref was the tosser - twice over.

Dunno how these things are meant to be done by the book but it looked on telly like he said heads that end, tails this end for the first toss. It also looked like a pre-determined toss for who went first. After the second toss I didn't see him ask Shinnie what he wanted.

Time to employ a specialist Coin Toss Coach

I find that really bizarre given that at the start of the game it's one toss and the 'loser' choosing what's left after the 'winner' has decided an end or kick-off.

Not a complaint or excuse at all, just find it strange.
