English, Welsh and Irish teams participating today. Boreham Wood v Dunfermline just kicked off. Generates a bit of interest if nothing else.

Boreham probably pay bigger wages than the Pars. English football is nuts. I agree though i hope Dunfermline get through.

The changes to this competition totally passed me by.

I saw yesterday that a Pars fan on Facebook was talking about "Borehamwood away" and I didn't twig at all what he was on about.

TBH I quite like it.

A truly terrible result for Falkirk.

DU still struggling badly.

Sir David Gray
08-09-2018, 04:06 PM
Falkirk really must be bad. It's probably too early to be worrying about relegation but without a team like Brechin in the division this year, if they don't pick up soon they could really get cut adrift.

I'd like to see Ray McKinnon fail at Falkirk.

It was poor stuff from him to leave Morton like that.

I know Paul from many years ago. He talks a good game, is a top guy, and is superb at getting the best out of players.

I'm delighted for him that Sutton won.

If he's playing I've not seen him do anything yet.

Josh Peters just on for QP. I think he had a very brief stay with us not long ago.

Alan Johnston said on the radio earlier that Dunfermline made about a £7,000 loss playing the fixture today with travelling and accommodation costs.

Queens equalise in last minute. 50 or so away fans go radio rental.

Have fair enjoyed following the Irn-Bru games today. Made the international break a bit more interesting anyway. Well done to the organisers. Something different.

640 mile round trip for Formartine makes no senf their home countries, which I presume the SFA se at all. This is costing clubs money

Think the SFA pay the travel fees for any team playing outside of their country which presumably is covered in sponsorship deals (otherwise there would be no point in doing it)

I think Allan Johnston said yesterday Dunfermline received £3000 for the tie, that's not alot when you need to transfer around 25 people to the south of England and back plus overnight accommodation and meals.

People like to bash Scottish football all the time but we're clearly not that bad if our ****ing amateur team can beat the Welsh champions.

500 travelling Pars fans according to the BBC round-up, so it's a format that clearly carries appeal due to the fact it offers something a bit different. Be good to think it's the forerunner to an eventual UK league.

Wouldn't want that for a number of reasons.

A bi-annual UK cup I'd get on board with though. :aok:

I'd be up for replacing the League Cup with a UK League Cup (and an expanded Challenge Cup for teams that didn't qualify).

Wouldn't bother. The UK is rubber ducked.
