Sad to hear that. He was in a few good films I loved smokey and the bandit and cannonball run.

Boogie Nights. Fine film. Funny and quite disturbing in parts. Burt played the father figure to perfection. Great warmth.

Deliverance is a great movie.

He was quite a character but he wasn’t half in some *****. The remake of Truffaut’s L'Homme qui aimait les femme was a crime against cinema (as well as being a pile of sexist crap).
