Hearing lots of talk of a disallowed goal in the Partick Morton game. Apparently the ball even hit the net ( who was it required that to happen), ref gave the goal then changed his mind on consulting with the “assistant”.

Anyone seen footage of this yet?

Per open all mics the assistant had flagged that the ball was out for a shy before the goal. Communication issue?

Watched on Twitter now. Sorry can’t do links on my phone but the linesman is on the far side of the pitch from the action. Footage doesn’t show the near side linesman but looks a good goal in the footage.

I'm sorry but that's nothing short of a disgrace. Both should be sacked after that. What the **** do they think the players are doing if it never crossed the line? The Morton player kicked the ball out in rage because of it being a goal and it hit the net ffs

Nope, linesman gives a throw in for Partick after the event, because the morton player kicks the ball away and out in disgust/anger after losing the goal.

Except that he gives the throw to Morton.....

An utterly baffling decision.

This is probably the strangest refereeing decision I've seen. State of refereeing in Scotland.

Linesman thinks it has hit bar then post and come back out. That's only reason he could have not give the goal?

No defence for this but having hit the net the ball does come back out at an odd angle which could make it look like it's hit the post. Poor though.

If this happened to Hibs I would demand the immediate resignation/sacking of both the linesman and the referee. I'd be absolutely livid.

Was it an ex-yam or an ex-hun attempting to cast doubt on a goal we'd scored because 'no part of the ball hit the net'? I canna mind but I've a slight feeling it was a particularly thick ex-hun.

All the officials associated with that game (ref, linesmen and 4 th official) should have their contracts terminated with immediate effect. The ball clearly hits the back of the net ffs! The only positive thing about this is at least they aren’t working for the NHS or operating heavy machinery

TBH we and other Scottish teams need to show solidarity and demand just this. We need to make it 100% crystal clear that this standard of refereeing is unacceptable

Here’s the link with the Thistle TV commentary. As they say, never seen anything like it apart from the last time it happened. Ironically at Firhill when Dundee Utd scored in the same goal and Les Mottram didn’t award a goal.

Unbelievable!!

This needs highlighted in the press... the constant ineptitude of our officials needs looked at.

It’s getting tiresome saying it week in and week out, and it’s not only against us... it’s every team that suffers and in turn the game in Scotland as a whole!

The net literally bulged! Linesman must be completely blind. And as noted, the players’ reactions on both teams must’ve made it obvious it was in! Ludicrous stuff.

Not sure what the fuss is about. It's just an example of these things evening themselves out over the course of 25 seasons.

I love the craziness of Scottish Football, but seeing a refereeing blunder of such monumental proportion in a top flight game is no laughing matter - it’s embarrasing. Thankfully it didn’t have any bearing on the result with Partick wining.

Why wouldnt the Morton team admit it was a goal??
I was at the Palace match donkeys years ago when the referee awarded us a goal and Steve Kember told the ref the ball didnt go in the net---he won some Sportsmanship award for that

By far the worst Ive seen in years. How that goal was not given only the officials can say. Keep an eye out on that ref to see if he gets a game next week. Some how I doubt he will.
