Yup, a near £2M bid was reportedly made 4 months ago.

Think the fact they've now released him shows that was made up nonsense. Absolutely no chance they would have turned down £2 million for him.

They didn’t release him. He triggered a clause in his contract that meant he could leave on a free before the end of the window.

Strange that they didn’t sell when they had the chance especially as they’ll have known he had a release clause.

I was told from a mate in dundee that the club never technically owned the player so any funds rec'd wouldn't go back in to the club so he had more value at the time, on the park

I would find it very difficult to believe that any club in Scotland would turn down £2 million for a player who has a release clause which would mean they get nothing.

Looked like he might have put his off field troubles behind him when he joined Dundee but it seems not. If the £2m bid is true then that's a shambles from them.

I think we need to understand what was in his glass before we can really judge him.

Think it was implied by someone on Twitter that the issue was McCann, rather than the player - they pointed to a number of fall outs at Dundee in his time there.

Dundee ST holder I work with is adamant that McCann is on a shoogly and is responsible for the lack of success. Seems to have fallen out with numerous players and allegedly picks team on his 'likes' as opposed to tactics.

The hope seems to be that Kenny Who will get the gig sooner rather than later.

Is that not a bit of a recurring theme with McCann?

Hence Bain not even warming their bench.

Tam mcmanus certainly implied it. How much he knows, I'm not sure.
