No mention of it being the last of our business.

Good luck DS. Glad he could live the dream a wee bit.

Best of luck to Danny Swanson. Shame it didn’t work out.

Good luck Danny, you got to live the dream, even though it maybe didn't work out. I'm sure the ordeal with the trial had a big effect at the time. Maybe a clean break is for the best, hopefully to regular first team football.

Sad to see him go but probably came to the club at the wrong time with so much competition in midfield

Real shame that it didn’t work out.

He’s going to be a good signing for another premiership team and I hope he does well wherever he ends up

As others have said shame it never worked out.

At 31 he needs to be playing and this allows him to negotiate something outside the window, from Hibs point of view it frees up a 1st team wage if it’s required.

Real shame for the boy. He finally got his dream move but due to unfortunate circumstances, he just couldn't push on. As a side note, he never appeared to me to be the fittest of guys. Seems like he was carrying a few extra pounds and was blowing out his erchie after 5 minutes.

One of the hardest workers at training and definitely not carrying any extra pounds, source, his colleagues at Easter Road

My mistake. I was just going on my observations on the hibs tv where he looked like his face was beetroot and huffing and puffing after a few minutes.

Amazingly he’s only been getting a few minutes now and again but when he was started against Celtic he was a contender for mom, think that says a lot

Right player, wrong time (on club and personal levels). Good luck Danny

Inevitable really, never offered much or looked likely to establish himself. His time at St Johnstone showed his ability, but was never able to do it at either Hearts or Hibs.

Tony Watt got mom against Barca.
Look what good that done him.

Clearly Lennon didn't like him based on what he'd seen in training - Danny has hardly been given a chance on the pitch. To cancel his contract so late in the wondow with no replacement seems a strange one. Particularly with Martin also going without a replacement.

Travesty did well with limited chance he got whilst the manager can continually act like a thug getting banned from dugout

As I said on a previous post, I have watched him on hibs tv, and he didn't look to be the fittest of players. If I'm wrong, I will stand corrected.

Thought it was a strange signing, a we'll take a punt type. I dont think he has the temperament to play for a Hibs/Hearts. He's a lucky boy though and has pulled on the green and white, something that is only a dream to us. Fair play. It's something i wish i was talented enough to have done

Good luck to him.

He lived the dream that all of us on here would do anything to do just once. I don't think there's any doubt that his personal circumstances with the death of Shaun Woodburn and the fact he was at the trial and had to give evidence about the nature of his best friend's death had an effect on his football.

Hopefully a clean break will help him.

A bit of an odd one, leaves us a thin on midfield cover? Maybe we are still negotiating with an out of contract player??

doesnt really leave us thin, milligan, mallan, bartley, horgan, slivka, boyle, agyepong, whittaker and hyndman all play in midfield, not exactly struggling for numbers

Sometimes we sign a player that i hope is a huge success, only because he's one of our own. Of course i want every player we sign to do well, but Danny being such a Hibby, its sad for us and him that it just never worked. :boo hoo:

Is it just me who thinks Hibs was too much pressure for Danny being a supporter? Club too big for him?

years ago he would probably have played every game but in reality he just isnt good enough, he was never going to play in front of last seasons midfield and this seasons seems to be playing well so far with another couple to come in so agin just isnt good enough to start in front of them, not to say he isnt a decent player though and was good enough to be a back up but obviously wants to play each week

True. St Johnstone is his level. He struggled at Hearts and now at Hibs.

Some players just fit certain clubs . Danny suits St Johnstone. You got the impression he was trying too hard with us .
