I think you’re right. They touched on it in the build up, teams these days tend to be much more expansive, his teams aren’t.

I remember his first season at Chelsea, they were great to watch. I'm pretty sure they score a record amount of goals?

Then something happened, he stumbled across playing this defensive grind out football that worked but it's time has gone.

:agree: It’s gone and if he doesn’t change so will he.

Football is littered with managers that were good for a while then slipped away. There's not many in modern football that have stayed for decades as a top manager. :agree:

Is Jose Mourinho now 'old school' when only 10 years ago he was the special one?

Spurs doing well considering I don't think they bought one single player in the summer.

I think Moura is like a new signing. They got him in January but he never really got a run last season. That was his first goal last week and he was brilliant again to night. How he doesn't get a game for Brazil....

Never better mate.

I'm not even surprised by the result tonight. Manchester Utd are miles away from competing for the title.

I'm just looking forward to hearing Liverpool fans get excited about winning it again...:faf:

No excuses Mourinho. Spent a fortune

But less of a fortune than others. And that's his problem. Been pretty successful when outspending others, not the case now so looks an average manager. Miserable, arrogant prick s well. Always good to see Utd lose too

No john mcginn in what looks like a weak Aston villa squad - 1-0 to Burton Albion after a Boyce goal.

Apparently there a few villa fans wanting Steve Bruce sacked. Saying the negative football is taking it's toll. Wonder how that would affect mcginn should he go

The cups down south have been so devalued because of the money and riches at stake in the Premiership and Championship then any result in their League Cup competition in particular cannot be used as a gauge for where teams will be at the end of the season. I think Villa's problem early into their season is not being clinical in games but also easily conceding and having to chase games. Bruce was a game away from taking them to the EPL and there was bound to be a slight 'hangover'. If they get rid of him it would be utter madness. He's bought well this season now he has funds.
