1st bairn takes ages. My missus was showing early labour signs for about 5 days before anything really happened.

Get yourself to the game :greengrin

This! My lad's birth took around 38 hours from first signs. You'll be fine

Not obviously going to be at the birth but will have to take the wife up once the baby arrives, hopefully being their 1st it'll take longer, I'm expecting early morning, babies have a habit of arriving at that time. :greengrin

You could go to the game and get your lad to stream it to your phone ?

Went with my daughter to ER the day before she was due - it's called priorities, your wife won't like it but if the mother to be is with you and near the car what could possibly go wrong?

A quick telephone call to ER asking about the suitability of the Changing Rooms for baby delivery might be the answer. Might be a bit crowded at half-time though. On the plus side, lots of ideas for names if it's a boy.

Again I won't be at the birth, that's the lad's job as the father but if it comes say right now, I'll have to take the wife up to see the new granddaughter, babies mum was 2cm dilated this morning, just hoping I don't get a call during the game.

The names already been chosen, no one knows except the 2 of them.

Surely she can wait 90 minutes? Not like the new grandkid is going to be going anywhere.

Nah, second, I'm all cool about it, like most grandparents just sitting waiting for a text of call, I'm working tonight so it may well be a quick pop in tonight for a 10 min visit.

Firstly congratulations

Re the Hibs kids, I tried to enroll my grandson the day he was born. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me until he had a first name!:greengrin Had to wait for three days until my daughter and her husband decided.
