Those of you with Irish connections might find the episode with Boy George interesting.

I love this programme.

The Boy George one was fascinating, and it was really quite harrowing at the end.

I sent off a sample to that "MyHeritage DNA" thing last night. They can tell you stuff about different geographical areas where your family roots are likely to be from, your susceptibility to certain diseases and whether or not you are linked to anyone else who has used their service before.

If I had time I'd love to trace my family tree. My Dad has done some of his, and it is very straightforward down his Dad's side of the family. The rest of my family is a bit more complicated though, so I'll be interested to see what this DNA business throws up.

I did the DNA think a few years back. Quite interesting!

Is it worth doing it, considering the price and all? I've been seeing this all over the media, in tv shows and what not and I've always been curious to try it myself.

Guy in the office was raving about the Boy George one.

I’ll have to catch it on iPlayer.

I'll tell you in 4 weeks - that's how long it takes to process it.

I got it as a present so I don't even know how much it costs.

I suppose it depends what you want to find out. I work in the health field so I'm quite curious about the disease susceptibility, there are a few family mysteries (unexplained links to Ireland, Belgium and the travelling community) that I'd like to find out a bit more about.

The bit linking your DNA to other people on their database so you can trace your family tree creeps me out a bit tbh, but I am curious to see what it throws up.
