Hilarious.

Good to see that you empathise with fellow Hibs fans.

I'll see about putting you on ignore before I get banned for reacting to your nonsense.

I wouldn’t bother with the effort pal - surely he’s unlikely to still be on here by the morning.

Admins, let's get rid of this Helmet boy?

He's said he's not booked on the charter, so is just stirring **** and perhaps pissing some people off who have missed out. He made his point in his first post but keeps going on and on.

He's come up with a fair point there.

Is that relevant right now though? Maybe let the dust settle as fans try to frantically get arrangements in place less than 24 hours before being due to travel

I'm not impacted by this, but gutted for anyone who was booked up

Newcastle to Zante - going over Wednesday and back Friday for £221. Bit of a trek Zante to Tripoli though.

The Athens curse strikes again.
Last time round I was on HFC arranged flight to Athens.
My plane took off & the Hibs team were taking off after us.
As soon as we land in Greece we are told match is cancelled & guess what the Hibs plane never took off.
Once we were in the sky Hibs knew we weren't entitled to a refund.

Not good to hear about the bad luck of those meant to be on the flight - I only hope none are the same fans who suffered the missed game last week!

I’m sure it’s already been done but keep trying the combinations on skyscanner of different routes over whatever dates you’re available, even if it means flying from a random English airport. Such a shame for those that have taken the time off and looking forward to what should have been a fantastic away trip.

Hopefully the boys do it on Thursday and give everyone another chance to travel abroad with the hibs!

One thing is for sure, I won't be using official charter again, this is just not acceptable and left 50 fans scrambling at short notice.

Just out of curiosity what is happening to the HSL raffle winners?

Are they still going on the charter or is the whole episode deemed null and void meaning everyone is getting there raffle money back?

Asking for a friend

HSL have acted superbly throughout and have honoured all commitments in an exemplarily manner - pure Hibs class! Why would you think differently?

And before you troll any further there are NO fans on the charter plane.

You were never entitled to a refund. The game was cancelled, not the flights.

I was in Edinburgh airport. The team had boarded their plane when UEFA cancelled the games as a mark of respect.

I saw McLeish and the team come back through the airport as we were in departures. I decided not to go, but Cliff Pike and the others went anyway.

I didn't get a refund because the flight wasn't cancelled.

If you're talking about the original flight to Athens you should know that the official flight with the players etc was taxying on the runway after we'd left when the pilot was told to abort. Are you suggesting that the club was in cahoots with the air traffic controllers?

Surely it takes the same amount of cockpit crew to fly a big or a small plane. As I said there must be a cockpit crew/cabin crew bank to draw resources from.

Crews are not all trained on the same aircraft types though.

Like the the railways, not all depots sign the same traction or routes making work depot specific, probably the same with this charter company.

I and a few mates were on that flight and i have to admit we all thought the same at first but when we arrived in Athens the buses had already been cancelled for transfer to the hotels we had to argue with the company who chartrered the flight to get the buses back.

Dont think Hibs knew what was going on as I could not accept my club would intentionally try and screw their own support but the charter/ travel company certainly knew what was going and i have no doubt they continued with the flight to avoid refunds. My grey matter stops me from remembering the name of the company used but i think there was a connection to Celtic either in the way of a celtic director being a part ownder in the travel company.

Their reps on the flight had no idea the game had been cancelled until about half way through the flight when they were told by the flight crew who came and spoke to them, obviously after getting a message from air traffic control.

I know that for a fact because I was sitting next to them in the 'bubble' upstairs on the plane when they were told

Their reps on the flight had no idea the game had been cancelled until about half way through the flight when they were told by the flight crew who came and spoke to them, obviously after getting a message from air traffic control.

I know that for a fact because I was sitting next to them in the 'bubble' upstairs on the plane when they were told

Thanks for that I always thought all these years we had got shafted but going on what you have said it was just a case of bad luck

Just out of curiosity what is happening to the HSL raffle winners?

Are they still going on the charter or is the whole episode deemed null and void meaning everyone is getting there raffle money back?

Asking for a friend

Who are Hearts playing on Thursday evening in Europe again?

Oh aye, they finished twenty odd points behind Hibs and didn't qualify. Again hahaha (and you won't qualify this coming season again by the way 😁)

So within the 5/10 mins after we had taken off UEFA had decided to cancel all games.

They didn't cancel all games. It was up to individual clubs that week. Plenty games went ahead. Was most annoying!

I thought all European games were cancelled, we went for 5 days at around £300 all in, much cheaper than the official charter?

I remember being a bit pissed off when i found out the Americans didnt cancel anything, all there baseball and Football games went ahead, but Europe had cancelled theirs?

Probably a Boeing 737- 300 series, maybe around 120 to 140 seats, depending on how many they can squeeze in
Luckily Klasjet were able to come to the rescue for the team, or it would have been a long journey for the players

The plane number was on one of the emails we got - it was a 737-300. I noticed that it had taken the Huns to Croatia so maybe the real reason was they couldn’t clean it in time.

I used Rideways for the transfer to Athens. A quick search on their site is showing £37 for a normal 8 seater, £43 for an executive 8 seater or £93 for an 18 seat minibus on 2/8 from Athens airport to Tripolis. They were brilliant with us.

On approach to Kalamata now. Looks like a rather convoluted approach path due to the local mountainous terrain - effectively going round in circles just north of the airfield to lose altitude. It isn't a holding pattern - this airport isn't busy enough to need one!
