We have a good chance of making it to the play offs. Then anything could happen. Hope we don't let this opportunity pass us by

I'm surprised at the positive reaction to be honest.
Don't know too much about them but we've not exactly done well against teams like that recently.
Will they not be pretty comparable to the likes of Malmo? (realise they're different countries)
I think people are looking at the fact that Molde lost their 1st leg in the 1st round away to Glenavon of Northern Ireland. They recovered well at home but if a part-time side from Northern Ireland can beat them then so could we.

Assuming we get through I don't think a team currently 3rd in the Norwegian league would be unbeatable. The standard of football is comparable to here so it's probably the equivalent of playing Aberdeen or Sevco. Saying that the Albanian side might beat them.

If we play them on 9th August, that will be 32 years to the day since Souness was sent off on his Rangers debut as Hibs won 2-1 with goals frm Cowan and Beedie, vs a new look Rangers of Woods, Butcher, Souness etc

And we might get beaten by Asteras.

If we get ER bouncing on Thursday, and make an electric atmosphere (like Athens 17 years ago) then there is a great chance we could progress!!
Whats the attendance so far?

Strange to think Aberdeen went into the qualifying in the most favourable position out of the 3 of us and have ended up with the hardest draws.

Not going to be easy but for a unseeded team from the first round, We wont ever get a better draw than this to get to the 4th round
Bring it on :agree:

Aberdeen drawn against the Government team from Turkey, a lot of people in Turkey will be wanting Aberdeen or Burnley to win that. Could be an interesting tie, potentially a bit dangerous to travel to though.
We have a good chance to get through both these ties imo, just imagine that.

Definitely one of the easier ties we could have faced, but also means we will definitely be unseeded for the play off round now, so if we get through we will likely have to play besiktas, zenit, olympiakos, fiorentina or a team like that.
Fiorentina didn't qualify.
Good draw for us though. A beatable team, but no egg on face if we don't go through. Just like this tie.

How would you rate our chances against Molde if we were to get through?
Standard of football pretty similar to our own?

Molde made the group stages a couple of years ago and beat Celtic 3-1 at home and 2-1 at darkheid . beat fenerbache in the same group . They will be no mugs

Molde by some way. Lac has a stadium that holds just 2300 I think

Just had a look on Wiki.
16 games into their season and sitting 3rd. They surprisingly lost 2-1 to Glenavon in the last round before destroying them in the return leg ending them as a club in the process.

Asteras Tripolis ground only holds 7500 , molde's 11'500
by your logic were in the playoffs already

Thankfully we have potentially avoided a trip to Kazakhstan for now
Aberdeen played their in the recent past and they were almost on the Chinese border with a ridiculous time zone difference with league matches either side of it
I don’t know why they didn’t postpone one of their games. If you can postpone games for ‘glamour’ friendlies the you should sure as he’ll be allowed to postpone a game for a European match!!

I only mentioned the size of the stadium because it is exceptionally small, in line with the faroese team we played. But if you'd like to have a wee wager on who is the favourite to progress I'll lump my cash on Molde and you can have Lac? Fair do's?
I think the standard of football in Sweden is generally a wee bit better than in Norway, might be wrong though.
I'm more concerned as to how it compares to Scotland.

Never good to get a Scandinavian team halfway through their season when we are essentially still in pre season mode.

We will have played 5 competitive games by the time we play them, so although not ideal we should be relatively sharp.

Jeezo, the teams we've been drawn against and can potentially play in the next round make us look like a giant club in comparison.
Sadly that doesn't really influence the likelihood of us actually progressing.

By the time we potentially play them, we shouldn’t need to worry about that. We’ll have played 5 competitive games by that point and ha our pre season!

They drew Sevilla in the Round of 32 and pulled in a crowd of 7,284 for the home leg. They seem to be able to get 10,000 if they are playing Rosenberg, otherwise it is circa 8,000.

You know the old saying “it’s the luck of the draw”.
That illustrates it perfectly.
Anyway, we need to beat the Greeks.
