Looking forward to seeing Hibs in action tonight, wish I was there though😬

Hope we can put on a good performance, and get a win on the night
Wouldn’t surprise me to see Bartley starting, possibly at the expense of Whittaker in midfield
No idea what’s happening with McGinn though, although would like to see him play, as he needs game time

Well done to all the fans who’ve made the trip. Enjoy it!

I'm also excited, sadly working but will hopefully brighten up my shift! It'll be interesting to see who plays, with Hanlon not in the squad, it could be 4 at the back or have Porteous in there instead. I'd like to maybe see Swanson start. Kamberi to get another brace.

Runavik 0 - Hibs 4

Just because I'd love to see Hibs hit 10 goals on aggregate. In fact, I wonder when the last time we scored a total of 10 goals in consecutive competitive games was? We got close last season with 9 goals vs Arbroath then Alloa in the league cup.

More minutes for the likes of Mallan and Kamberi to get their sharpness up.

Need to assume McGinn will still be here until we know otherwise so he needs to play ahead of next week.

With Hanlon out I wonder if we might switch to a back 4 with Gray in at RB.

Few goals, no injuries and no silly bookings please.

Is it the same ref as last week?

I'd take a win of any kind, which will help our coefficient for future draws, without any bookings right now.

If Celtc dont pony up today McGinn needs to play. We'll need him fit against the Greeks.

No its a ref from Andorra called Luis Texeira. Couldn't find much on him at all so looks like another rookie ref.

Especially Kamberi if he plays, a booking tonight would see him 1 yellow away from a suspension.

Presuming that Hibs will go for it, as at the end of the day they we still have a lot of fitness to build up and goals will only give us confidence - the betting for tonight looks very generous.

Was evens for Hibs and over 2.5, and was 19/10 Hibs to win both halves.

I'd leave Kamberi on the bench as he picked up a booking in the first leg. The above team should have more than enough to get through, maybe swap McGinn & Mallan for Slivka and Swanson at half time.

So Kamberi will be going into the next game having not played a competitive game for 2 weeks, which wouldn’t be great for his sharpness.

I think the importance of match practice is greater than the risk of him getting another booking.

Kamberi getting 60 minutes or so against a part time team when the tie is over will have a negligible impact on his sharpness IMO , certainly not enough to counter the danger of him potentially picking up another booking.

My thoughts exactly, I'd imagine the game won't be played at a ferocious tempo either as they'll look to keep some dignity in tact. How many bookings is it before you pick up a ban in the qualifying stages? He also hadn't played a competitive match in two months prior to his last game and managed a hattrick in 50 minutes..

Friendlies are used to get match sharpness up and those ties don't even begin! I'd happily see him continue his scoring form tonight regardless of opposition and circumstances.

Simon Murray has got a fair bit of stick by a few on here recently... we seen what getting in the scoring habit can do for strikers at any level with him at this time last year.

Tell Kamberi to go out and bag himself more goals, and not pick-up any bookings. easy :greengrin

Thy scored last time, and this time they have home advantage and we'll likely have a foot off the gas/one eye on Greece (particularly towards the end of the game).

I'd also be tempted to rest Kamberi if they are going to kick lumps out of him. I'm sure he could play a development/bounce game or a mixed 11v11 in training to get as much sharpness as he'd get tonight.

I'd agree with the poster who suggested this could be a much more quiet game than last week. Depending on the team we put out, a relatively dominant but not clinical 0-0 could be on the cards. I hope for those who travelled that it's a bit more entertaining. :aok:

Taken from the Hibs website -

“Kick-off is at 6.45pm BST (7.45pm local time)”

I did phone up the ticket office and ask about this weeks ago, thinking people would get confused. Faroes is the same time as UK so unsure why they wrote the above. Ticket office staff didn’t have a clue. Anyway definitely 7:45 KO

I’m not an expert by any manner of means but having heard the stories that Vagur isn’t the longest runway you’ll come across perhaps the plane that had to return to Copenhagen was much larger in size whereas the one which did land was a smaller jet. You have to understand it’s the pilots responsibility for everyone on board if, in the unlikely event something sinister was to take place

Either way it’s a sickener after all that expense and hopefully the club and do something as a small gesture for the fans who didn’t make it

Maybe the fans reps can raise this and perhaps something can be done should we qualify and get these guys comps in the padded seats and get them fed at half time etc

It’s nothing in comparison to what they’ve lost but it’s a goodwill gesture and hopefully strengthen the fans - club relations
