Friend over in Ireland says he looks really good

Did he mean he's a snappy dresser with styled hair... or that he's an excellent footballer?

How old? Is he one for development squad? First team squad or is it a first team place?

He has pace which Lenny loves and it can't be taught but how good or potentially good he is I leave to Lenny to decide.

Choosing Dundalk over us and a couple championship teams is a big call at this point in his career

Maybe a sensible one depending on how likely he would be to be in the first team here.

Not being a fan of the Rolling Stones (and its seemingly important to be a fan when punning) its disappointing that the said puns have veered from The Kinks and The Jam towards these dinosaurs. Let's stay on track and get the FA FA FA FA FA FA FA FA right into the singing section songbook. There's even a **** the Queen opportunity in there for the traditionalists!

Is Abbott and Costello ok? :greengrin

Failing that, I'll see your fafafafafafafafa, and raise you Otis Redding. (edit. 1 fa too short)

Otherwise, I'll see you down in the tube station. You pick the time.

Otis did Fafafafafafafafafa.

Davies nicked the line for his song about Dylan Watts.

He was a dedicated follower of fafafafafashion.

Nerds corner, but some say it was about Dave Davies' sexuality. Not an easy subject to sing about in the 60's.

He drew a lot from the Kinks, the Who and the Small Faces which somehow made the Jam different! That and TS Eliot. And **** weren't they just brilliant.

We should not hesitate in signing this man. He can fight, drink champagne. Pass his exams.
But importantly he is the captain of the team. As long as he's left school now.

David Watts was a real person. He was a concert promoter. Ray Davies said Watts was gay and demonstrated an obvious romantic interest in brother Dave. In this light, lines like "he is so gay and fancy free"; and "all the girls in the neighbourhood try to go out with David Watts....but can't succeed.." provide a second level of interpretation based on this ironic in-joke

You mean a song written by Ray Davies and recorded by his band The Kinks which The Jam did a cover off .
