Enjoying these threads. My brothers who are Arabs took my elder son to the game. He was loving it. Them less so.

We finished 3rd that season, but didn't actually qualify for Europe.

I think we were down to a total of three Euro qualifiers and one of those was the Scottish Cup winners.

We also drew roughly half our league games and scored 1.4 goals per game. Exciting stuff.

I was drinking with a few Utd supporting mates before the game. They were back in Middletons before the 2nd half started!

Won 3 and drew v Celtic who were time wasting at the end of a 1-1 draw. They finished behind us, but got into Europe as they won the cup. Great team, but Miller too defensive away from home.

Raith qualified due to winning the League Cup so there were 4 Scottish teams in Europe.

Don't think we won away from home until very late in the season..
Remember the 5 nil well, one of my first games. DU were coming off their first ever cup win, and had 10m man Jerren Nixon (no relation).
So it was a pretty impressive thumping.

Remember this game well. Was hoping it would be featured. Gareth Evans was on fire that day. The boy was quick but it looked like he’d gained another two yards of pace over the close season. He was unplayable.

The only clear memory I have of this game is Michael O'Neill chipping the goalie near the end. Brilliant finish and what a way to start the season.

We beat Utd 3-0 that season as well. They got relegated.
I’ve the 5-0 goals on video somewhere.

Believe it or not my son who had just turned 7 before this match reminded me today that I left our season tickets on the supporters bus for this game. given that this was 1994 how the heck did he remember that?

PS also left our tickets on the bus for the cup final on 21/05/16!!!!
