A Motherwell win would be Hibs,-hibsing it without even playing. Best season in 20 and they end up 1 place and £200k better off than us.

The above quote from the bitter side of the web - trying to change history already re. places better off. No wonder their books were so wrong.

Clown can't even get his facts right, we were 2 place better than them.

Those eejits are so desperate to use the phrase Hibs'd it even re us finishing 4th when in actual fact we were chasing 2nd and 3rd for months and closed the gap considerably. They conveniently forget how they were the original bottlers in 1986.

This cup final has been very poor in all honesty. Bar the first goal which was a cracker Celtic are so far ahead it’s like a training game at times. Motherwell though have been brutal.

Disappointed with Celtc in the second half. Bigrimana made a big difference to 'Well when he came on.
On luckier day the Mother's could have nicked a couple of 2nd half goals. Alas, not only were they outclassed, they didn't get any fortunate breaks

Says they’re lucky to have 11 on the pitch still. But also says it was a genuine attempt to play the ball. Make your mind up.

I said the same. Bleating about a sending off then admits he tried to play the ball.

Letting his hatred of Man Utd cloud his judgement.

Is there not a double jeopardy rule in force now? I.e. If you give a penalty away you don't get sent off, but if you give a free kick away as last man you get a red?

Crap 1st half at Wembley. Utd have been camped in Chelseas half but they are like a really expensive Pat Fenlon side. Loads of the ball but no movement or creativity.

2 pretty dull finals today so far.

Yep, which is why Keown is wrong.

I was watching the Scottish cup highlights programme earlier on.

McRorie was sent off for a foul in the box on Dembele in the semi-final of this year's competition.

Should he not have just been booked, going by the double jeopardy law?

When and why is it still a red card?

Red card when you’re not deemed to have made a genuine attempt to get the ball. So a shirt pull or a push. Or punching it off the line.

It's a yellow card when it's judged that there was a genuine attempt to play the ball. Cynical fouls like pulling a player back will get a red.

CropleyWasGod

It's not about "double jeopardy".

If the foul is the result of a genuine attempt to play the ball, it's a yellow. Otherwise, it's a red.

The ref got it right, as has been said.

I can't really see that other than they lost 1-0. I think they're just dross. 2nd place in the PL dross mind, FA Cup runner up dross and EL winners last year dross. I'm now listening to 3 men on the BBC who have never picked a team between them telling us where multi-title winning Mourinho goes wrong.

I think a load of "top clubs" count winning the Europa League as a great acheivement FFS. Unless you believe there are only about 4 of those in Europe.
However, I'm not debating much other than the perceived negativity of a man who allows the battering of an opponent. I think it's punditry gone wrong on here like it does on the telly.

And I'm glad he's yesterday's man. I'd like to see Man U drown in their own *****!

I really don't see what's so difficult to understand about my point. In the 2nd half today and against Man City away Man Utd opened up a bit and played attacking football. It was successful againt City, today they had Chelsea rocking but some good goalkeeping and defending denied them. From week to week they don't play that way and rarely 'batter' teams.

We had one of these tedious discussion a few weeks a go on a Saturday night with nonsensical nit picking from you about what I said so let's just leave it. Enjoy your evening.

It was good. From a possible VAR penalty to allow Bayern to equalise to a break-away with the keeper in the wrong box to make it 3-1 in the space of 30 seconds. Great entertainment and amazing celebrations.

True but most of them are in Spain or Portugal.

Sevilla have won it five times in the last sixteen years. Atlético have won it three times, Porto twice and Valencia once.

United (managed by Mourinho), Chelsea (managed by Benítez), CSKA Moscow (managed by Juande Ramos), Shankhtar Donetsk, and Zenit St Petersburg won the other five.

So 11 have been won by Iberian teams and a further 3 by teams with Spanish or Portuguese coaches.
